About HMRC
At HMRC, delivering a great customer and colleague experience is at the heart of
what we do. We help people and businesses get their tax right, and make it hard for
the dishonest minority to cheat the system. What we all do makes a difference, and
we’re proud of that because it touches the lives of everyone in the UK and as a
result funds public services. We couldn’t do all this without our dedicated workforce
– we’re one of the largest organisations in the UK, and we pride ourselves on
delivering an inclusive working culture. HMRC is transforming on an unprecedented
scale and our people are at the heart of everything we do. With the help of cutting-
edge data and analysis, and the skills of our people, we’re becoming one of the
most digitally advanced tax authorities in the world. At the same time, we’re
improving how we do things for our customers, being more flexible in the way we
help them and getting things right first time.

We’re in the process of bringing everyone together in 13 regional centres where it’ll
be easier for us to invest in people’s skills and career development. All our regional
centres will have a wide range of roles and opportunities, so there’ll be many career
paths people could follow. Our training packages will help everyone develop new
skills and expertise. The new regional centres will provide modern workspaces and
tools to make your job easier, more varied and satisfying. They will be home to a
mix of professions, and have a balance of operational delivery, compliance and tax
professional roles. They will also all have roles from our corporate and strategic
functions, e.g. policy, HR, project management, finance and communications.

“ I’m delighted you’re considering joining us and
working in HMRC compliance. We are working to
help individuals and business get their tax right.
We will invest in you and your development
                                 throughout your time at HMRC.

What’s it like working as a
Risk Analyst in RIS PCD?
I have worked in Production Yorkshire as an analyst for around 18 months and from
day one I have been really impressed with the level of support and assistance
available from everyone in the department, no matter the grade or seniority.

This has been increasingly prevalent
during 2020 when everyone in the
department has really pulled together
and adapted brilliantly to new ways of
working at home whilst also managing
the introduction of new and challenging
COVID-19 work streams alongside our
business-as-usual work.

Since joining the department, I have
been afforded the opportunity to take part
in loads of additional roles including
working as the Communications Rep for
Production Yorkshire, helping to organise
the Yorkshire Talent & Development
Programme and joining a team looking to
improve how we recognise, reward and
celebrate the many successes and
achievements seen in Production, both
at site level and nationally.
