We wanted to put it down in writing. To define our purpose for everyone to read, providing
total transparency and total honesty. To sum it up we use 5 words. These 5:

That’s our commitment to employees, distributors, suppliers, the environment, communities
and the journeys and dreams (of everyone that wears our garments). It’s a lofty goal but
we believe in always doing the right thing. Not the easy thing or most profitable. But the
right thing. Because we are with you all the way.

A NEW ZEALAND
STORY WITH PURPOSE
It’s 1966. In downtown Auckland, Grandpa started making clothing. The centre of our world
was a tiny warehouse, upstairs on Queen Street. There was a cutting table, some racking for
fabric and a few shelves for finished garments. Luxury was a kettle and jar of instant coffee.
There was no fridge for the milk, so it didn’t really matter how you liked it. If you visited,
your coffee was served black and strong.
We may have been tight on space. We may have been surrounded by more mess than we
liked. But creativity and quality was never stifled. Pretty soon we began to build a
reputation for high quality childrenswear. Over the next few decades, the clothing industry
underwent an unprecedented change. We tried to keep up. Sometimes we got ahead.
Sometimes we fell behind. But we adapted and we’re still here.
That little warehouse in Queen Street has long gone. Nowadays the centre of our world is
Invercargill. The range is much larger and we offer a bit of something for everyone. From
winter wear to athleisure. It’s all ready to be branded. All ready for that bit of added flair.
Or can be worn as is. Unadorned and simple.
As for the future? Who knows. We’re just happy to be where we are. We’ll concentrate on
doing things the right way, for the right reasons. The rest will hopefully work itself out.
If it doesn’t…well, we’re pretty sure Grandpa will let us know.
He’s still here and in the office every day.

STOCKSERVICE
Aurora garments are designed for branding, using either screenprinting,
embroidery or other embellishment methods.
Styles are stocked in New Zealand and are generally available for overnight delivery
nationwide. There is no minimum order; beneficial if someone joins your team or group
and you need just that extra single garment.
6A PROCESS
ROOTED IN ETHICALITY
The apparel industry is incredibly complex. Your garments will go on a long journey, from a
field of cotton waiting to be picked, a paddock full of merino sheep needing shearing, or
from the incredibly complex machinery required by man-made yarns. The process involves
many relationships, spanning multiple continents, languages and cultures.
It gets even more complex when you do it the right way. For us, that means an emphasis on
the ethics and sustainability of our supply chain.
Our factory code of conduct is based on the 12 principles set out by the WRAP Organisation
(Worldwide Responsible Accreditation). These principles include the prohibition of forced
labour, child labour, abuse, discrimination; and ensure fair compensation, working hours,
environment, and health and safety. We believe a factory should not only meet these
standards ‘on paper’ but that a culture of care should exist top down. Once a factory is
selected, we then conduct periodic audits to ensure these standards are upheld.
