MA Master of Arts and
MSc Master of Science
You can either build on your undergraduate
studies by exploring your subject in more
depth or complement your undergraduate
degree with knowledge and skills in a
different subject area.
MBA Master of Business
Administration
A taught postgraduate course that can help
you advance your career and become a
better leader – a great option if you want to
apply for a senior management role or start
your own business. You must have:
• an undergraduate degree of 2:1
or above
• at least three years of full-time,
post-graduation work experience
to be considered for the full-time
MBA (one-year course)
• five years full-time, post graduation
work experience to be considered
for the Executive MBA (two-year,
part-time course)
MRes Master of Research
A taught course that combines the
academic study of a particular subject with
a comprehensive exploration of research
methods. It can also be preparation for
a PhD.
PG Dip Postgraduate Diploma and
PG Cert Postgraduate Certificate
Qualifications at the same level of study as
master’s degrees, but they don’t include a
written dissertation. A PG Dip takes longer
and is worth more credits than a PG Cert.

How to apply
1 Choose a course 5 Track your application
Find your ideal master’s course on our website. After you apply, we’ll send you login details for
our online Application Tracker, where you can
check on the progress of your application and

look at the entry requirements and make sure

Flexible learning
At Bath, we mainly deliver our campus-
based courses through in-person activities,
supported by online elements and structured
independent study.
In-person teaching on campus normally
takes place each week so you can work
through your learning in practice. Online
education includes live, interactive sessions
– letting you explore ideas in a group – and
structured, independent self-study.
This approach lets us meet individual
students’ study needs and retain flexibility in
course delivery when needed.
We also provide in-person and online
student support services, including high-
quality careers advice, health and wellbeing
support, academic advisors, and guidance
for all our students, studying or working on
campus or around the world.

Niloufar came to Bath as a refugee from Iran and excelled in her mechanical and electrical engineering

Nav created the Washing Machine Project, a social enterprise designed to ease the burden of hand
washing clothes for displaced people. He was awarded a 2023 Points of Light Award by UK Prime Minister,
Rishi Sunak.
I wanted to combine my passion for humanitarianism
with academic studies. I had the engineering skills to create
a manual-drive washing machine, but I didn’t know who was
going to use something like this. The course really taught me
the lay of the land. Gen Z is angry right now at the world that
they’re inheriting, and they want to change things but may
not know how. Courses like this equip you with those skills.
