Kindy Club Kicks Goals
The first semester of our transition to school
program, ‘Kindy Club,’is well and truly in full swing
thanks to Miss Hogan and Mr Hutton.
Our 2019 Kindergarten students are busy
becoming acquainted with our school
environment and discovering how we get ready
to learn when we start at ‘big school’. Each week
there are different learning opportunities in the
areas of literacy and numeracy, as well as activities
to promote fine motor and gross motor skills,
which improve handwriting and sports skills. We
would like to publicly thank Coles at Glendale for
donating fruit each week for our new people to
have at break time.

Delightful Disco Dancers
Many thanks to our wonderful P&C committee
and other volunteers who organised our Term 1
disco recently. Booragul students danced their
socks off, having a wonderful time with their
friends. Looking through the photos we have
identified talented limbo artists and amazing
break dancers who would give anyone a run
for their money in a dancing competition.
Appreciation also goes to the wonderful staff who
stayed behind after a busy day in the classroom
to supervise the students. This is another
demonstration of our beautiful community
working together for our students.
Classroom Showcase - 2/3A
This week we are shining a spotlight on Mrs Klein,
Mr Weber and the amazing young people in 2/3A.
They have been working diligently to improve their
imaginative writing using, for example, powerful
adverbs. From the pre-assessment at the beginning
of the term, which all students from Years 1-6
complete, teachers design specific learning tasks
for their class cohort in order to improve their
results at the mid-term mark. From looking at their
initial results, we will be watching their progress
closely, to actually see how much growth each
student can make towards their own personal
benchmark/writing goal.

P&C Executive & Canteen Committees – 2018
The Annual General Meeting for our P&C Committee was held yesterday afternoon, followed by the first
meeting for 2018. The staff would like to sincerely thank those wonderful people who volunteered
throughout last year to ensure that we could have a functioning committee working towards great
outcomes for our students and community. We know that without volunteers it is difficult to have s o many
  lovely things occurring.

The P&C Executive Committee for this year is:
  President – Renee Paterson
  Vice President – Troy Kempnich
  Secretary – Julie Kempnich
  Treasurer – Michele Taylor
  Uniform Officer – Theresa Weltner
  Fundraising Officer – Patricia Farrelly

In addition to this, the Canteen Committee is:
  Canteen Convenor – Corrine Commandeur
  Canteen Secretary - VACANT
  Canteen Treasurer – Rachel Farley

As you can see, we still have a vacant position on our Canteen Committee for the position of Secretary. The
Canteen Secretary keeps a record of all canteen meetings and collects and distributes the mail. If you are
interested in volunteering, please collect a nomination form from our School Office.
Please note that the next P&C Meeting will be held in Term 2 on Tuesday 15th May from 3:30pm in the
library. Everyone is very welcome to attend and be part of our fabulous school community.

  Star Struck News
Congratulations to our dancers from Stage 2 and Stage 3
who were successful in their audition for Star Struck this
year. Students will be performing two dances and attending
a variety of rehearsals, both in and out of school. It is an
amazing opportunity for students to make connections with
students from other schools and to expand on their already
fantastic dance skills. Notes have been sent home regarding
  transportation, rehearsal dates and payments.

  Miss Fischer and Miss Hogan,
  Star Struck Coordinators.
