 Charity Pyjama Day
Business Bulletin 30th October - Embrace Elgin
Our Charity Pyjama Day is on Friday 6th November and there is still time to get your business
involved!

Have some fun with your employees and colleagues whilst raising money for the BID Charities who do
work on the ground supporting the people of Elgin & Moray.

To help try and raise some much needed funds for our charities we would like to know if you and your
employees would like to get involved with the Pyjama Charity Day.

We are asking for a £2 donation from those participating and we will also provide you with a collection
can so you can collect donations through the day from customers & clients.

Join us in having a bit of fun while raising money for great local causes! (Be sure not to arrange any
important meetings for that day )

Let Tina know at tina.mainland@elginbid.co.uk if you would like to get involved.

Social Media Webinars- have your say!

We are going to be bringing more webinars to you. The next one we are looking at organising is on
social media and we would like to have your input!

Simply fill in the below survey and let us know what options you would prefer.

Have ideas for webinars that would help you and your business? Or would you like to provide a
webinar for BID members? Drop Tina an email at tina.mainland@elginbid.co.uk and let her know and
we will do our best to arrange.

Moray Town Centre Capital Fund 2020 – 2021

If you are looking to apply for the Moray Town Centre Capital Fund 2020 – 2021 be sure to apply
quickly as applications close on 14th November.

More information below.

The Scottish Government recently allocated a £433,000 fund to improve town centres in Moray. The
aim of this fund is to make transformational and visual differences to the heart of Moray’s towns.

Moray Council is welcoming bids for altering large vacant retail premises into smaller units within the
town centres of Elgin, Forres, Buckie, Lossiemouth and Keith.

Grants of up to 50% for eligible costs, capped at £50,000, are available for suitable projects. The fund
will provide an opportunity for businesses to survive and thrive in these difficult times.

Grants are also available through the Transforming Empty Space to Living Space scheme, supporting
projects to turn empty properties into residential and/or student accommodation with the aim of
bringing the town centres back to life.

The scheme is available to applicants from all the towns, including smaller settlements with populations
of over 1,000 – Lhanbryde, Burghead, Hopeman, Dufftown, Kinloss, Cullen, Aberlour, Rothes,
Portknockie, Findochty and Mosstodloch.

Grants of up to 25% of eligible project costs, capped at £50,000 are available for structural works,
replacing windows, re-wiring and creating new entrances to properties.

Previous successful applicants of the ‘Turning Empty Space to Living Space 2019 – 2020’ are
ineligible for the new ‘Empty Space to Living Space’ fund.
