Total Fee # 1 + Fee # 2 + Fee # 3 is total payable for any players starting once the season has commenced.
1.6 Refund Policy:
Any player/club requesting a refund must complete a refund form. A club representative must sign off
on the claim, approving the player to receive the refund directly.
In the instance the club doesn’t approve of the player receiving the refund/club applying for the
refund directly, Cairns Netball will refund the money to the club directly. It will be the responsibility of
the club to rectify the situation with the player.
Any claim for a refund of game fees must be made no later than fourteen days after the conclusion of
the season the player competed in.
Cairns Netball cannot refund the capitation amount if the player has taken the court. We will only
consider refund of the Cairns Netball amount.
Refunds will only be considered in the following circumstances and at the discretion of operations:
- A player who has injured themselves and has ceased playing and has no intention of returning
during the season
- A player who has ceased playing for personal reasons and has no intention of returning during
the season
- For any fees paid for courses, clinics, etc. that resulted in nonattendance for a valid reason.

This is based on Cairns Netball’s records.
No refunds will be granted for players who have missed weeks due to injury/personal reasons and
have returned to playing.
1.7 First Aid Policy
Game Nights – Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday nights
The Coach/Manager for every team should have done a basic first aid course and have a first
aid kit.
1. Each team team/club is responsible for providing someone who is first aid trained.
2. Coach/Manager are the first point of contact when an injury occurs, they should assist any
injured person and asses the injury for severity.
3. If it’s an emergency the first aid trained person should call an ambulance immediately (call
000). The team manager should then notify the Games Controller at control straightaway.
4. If not an emergency but the injured person requires an ambulance, please notify the Games
Controller and an ambulance will be called.
5. For minor injuries ice can be found in the umpire’s room in the deep freezer. Also in the umpires
room is a First Aid kit.
Non – Playing days/nights – Monday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday
All club/teams are responsible to provide a first aid trained person and a basic first aid kit whilst
at the courts on a non-playing night.
1. If in an emergency the club/team training is responsible to seek medical attention or call an
ambulance (call 000).
2. We would appreciate the club/team to complete an injury report form (available on the
website).
3. If the injured person require an insurance claim, Cairns Netball needs to be notified
immediately via email.

2.3 Club Court Allocation schedule

Please note due to our Roof Project happening this year mid-season we are possibly losing
courts 5 - 10 from May - July.
We would prefer not to allocate any clubs to these courts due to a mid-season interruption
and your club then needing to find an alternative training venue.

2.5 Training Night checklist:
On arrival:
Check the court surrounds if there is something that needs to be reported please
email admin@cairnsnetball.net.au
Lights are automatically turned on and off on a Monday & Thursday.
Check the playground surrounds and remove any dangerous items.
If you are the first club to arrive for trainings, please open all the toilets
Before exiting:
Ensure all the toilets are locked, lights and fans are automatic and will switch off
after the timer has ticked over.
Please leave the court in the condition to which you arrived. Place all rubbish in the
bins provided.
The last team to leave please ensure the entrance gate is locked.
Please ensure that everyone leaves the carpark in a timely manner as the gate has
a chain that council locks every night at 10pm.
2.6 Cairns Netball Sponsored Bibs
Please note we will only order bibs for divisions that require it for 2019. We will take into
consideration previous orders so please ensure that you keep track of the bibs that have been
ordered in the past.
Cairns Netball provide bibs for the following Divisions:
Senior Division 1, Division 1 Reserve, Division 2, Division 3 and Junior Division 1 (previosuly
Intermediate), Division 1 Reserve.

These divisions MUST ensure they wear the sponsored bibs provided. If you have not got a set
and you have a team in these divisions, please email admin@cairnsnetball.net.au.
Cairns Netball is only going to provide NEW sets to any clubs that need them.
If your club has misplaced a set, it will be replaced at your clubs expense.
An email will be sent to follow up with each club regarding orders before they are placed.

4.2 New Player Submission Form
When you have a new player joining your club, the following must occur:
- The following form gets submitted to the competitions manager –

- The new player fee will be confirmed via invoice to the club and it will be the
clubs responsibility to ensure the player is registered online via My Netball before
they are allowed to take the court.

COACH CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Operate within the rules and spirit of netball, promoting fair play over winning at any
cost.
2. Encourage and support opportunities for people to learn appropriate behaviour and
skills.
3. Support opportunities for participation in all aspects of the sport
4. Treat each person as an individual.
5. Display control and courtesy to all involved with the sport
6. Respect the rights and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural
background or religion.
7. Respect the decisions of umpires, officials, coaches and administrators in the conduct
of the sport.
8. Wherever practical, avoid unaccompanied and unobserved one-on-one activity
(when in a supervisory capacity or where a power imbalance will exist) with people
under the age of 18 years
9. Adopt appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions.
10. Adopt responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and other drugs.
11. Act with integrity and objectivity, and accept responsibility for your decisions and
actions.

JUNIOR PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
In addition to Netball Queensland’s Federal Code of Behaviour in any activity held by or
under the auspices of Netball Australia, Netball Queensland, a Region, an Affiliated
Association or an Affiliated Club, you must meet the following requirement in regard to your
conduct.
1. Participate because you enjoy netball, not just to please parents and/or coaches.
2. Play by the rules
- Know the Rules
3. Participate fairly and safely
4. Abide by decision, without argument or bad temper.
- Captains have the right to approach an umpire during an interval or after the
game for clarification of any rule.
- Approach the umpire in a courteous and polite way.
5. Cooperate with your coach, and other players.
- Verbal abuse of officials, or other players, deliberately fouling or provoking an
opponents and throwing/damaging equipment is not acceptable or
permitted.
- Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
- Ensure that at all times your behavior is fair.
- Be a patient and enthusiastic supporter of fellow players.
6. Applaud all good play, by your own team and opponents.
7. Be responsible team member.
- Always be on time
- Encourage and assist all players.
- Attend all training sessions.
- Ensure you always bring the appropriate uniform and equipment of training
and/or matches.

Association or an Affiliated Club, you must meet the following requirement in regard to your
conduct.
1. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow players, coaches, officials and
spectators.
2. Refrain from conduct which could be regarded as sexual or other Harassment.
3. Respect the talent, potential and development of fellow players and competitors.
4. Care and respect the uniform and equipment provided to you.
5. Be frank and honest with your coach concerning illness and injury and your ability to
train and play fully.
6. Conduct yourself in a responsible manner relating to language, temper and
punctuality.
7. Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour at all times.
8. Abide by the rules and respect the decision of the umpires. Be courteous and use the
correct process when seeking a rule clarification.
9. Be honest in your attitude and preparation to training. Work equally hard for yourself
and your team.
10. Co-operate with coaches and staff in relation to programs that adequately prepare
you for competition.

SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT
In addition to Netball Queensland’s Federal Code of Behaviour in any activity held by or
under the auspices of Netball Australia, Netball Queensland, a Region, an Affiliated
Association or an Affiliated Club, you must meet the following requirement in regard to your
conduct.
1. Most players (in particular children) participate in netball activities for fun. They are not
participating for entertainment of spectators only.
2. Applaud good performance and efforts by all players. When watching a game
congratulate both teams on their performance regardless of the game's outcome.
3. Respect the umpires' and coaches’ decisions. If there is a disagreement, follow the
appropriate procedure in order to question the decision and teach children to do
likewise.
4. Never ridicule or scold a player for making a mistake during a competition. Positive
comments are motivational.
5. Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by administrators, coaches, players,
umpires or parents/ guardians.
6. Show respect for your team's coach, the umpire and opponents. Without them there
would be no game.
7. Encourage players to play according to the rules and the official decisions, and
develop your own knowledge of the rules.
8. Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by refraining from using foul language,
harassing administrators, coaches, players or umpires.
9. Support the use of age appropriate development activities and modified rules.

UMPIRE CODE OF CONDUCT
In addition to Netball Queensland’s Federal Code of Behaviour in any activity held by or
under the auspices of Netball Australia, Netball Queensland, a Region, an Affiliated
Association or an Affiliated Club, you must meet the following requirement in regard to your
conduct.
1. Umpire in accordance with the Official Rules of the Game.
2. Treat all players, coaches, match officials and other umpires with respect.
3. Place the safety and welfare of the players above all else.
a. Ensure the court and its surrounds are compliant with the rules.
b. Take appropriate action to manage dangerous play.
4. Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour at all times.
5. Be a positive role model through behaviour and personal appearance projecting
a favourable image of netball and umpiring at all times.
6. Be courteous, respectful and open to discussion and interaction.
7. Maintain or improve your current performance level and seek continual
improvement

SOCIAL MEDIA CODE OF CONDUCT
In addition to Netball Queensland’s Federal Code of Behaviour in any activity held by or
under the auspices of Netball Australia, Netball Queensland, a Region, an Affiliated
Association or an Affiliated Club, you must meet the following requirement in regard to your
conduct.
Cairns Netball Association recognises the significant impact Social Media plays in people’s
lives today and we realise the importance to set guidelines to protect the interests and
reputation of C N A, their players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and supporters.
Social Media Websites:
1. Treat all social media postings, blogs, status updates and tweets as public
“comment”.
2. Postings (written, photos or videos) will be family-friendly and feature positive
club news and events.
3. No statements will be made that are NOT IN THE SPIRT OF THE GAME or that are
misleading, false or likely to injure the reputation of a person, player, coach,
umpire, Club or Team.
4. No statements to be made that will bring C N A into disrepute.
5. Abusive, discriminatory, intimidating, bullying or offensive statements will not be
tolerated.
6. Members should conduct themselves appropriately when using electronic
communication to share information regarding C N A with other members or
posting material on public websites.
7. Each person is accountable for their actions and what they communicate on
Social Media. Therefore before posting consider the Netball Queensland
initiative of “Positive or its Pointless”. If the message could be considered
negative, or it contains sensitive information, do not post.
8. With non-compliance of these policies, Members may face disciplinary action
in regards to posting online content or comments that harass, offend,
intimidate or humiliate the Management Committee, a player, coach, umpire,
volunteer or support of C N A. Under certain circumstances, “cyber bullying”, is
a criminal offence that can be reported to the police.

PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF
CONDUCT
In addition to Netball Queensland’s Federal Code of Behaviour in any activity held by or
under the auspices of Netball Australia, Netball Queensland, a Region, an Affiliated
Association or an Affiliated Club, you must meet the following requirement in regard to your
conduct.
1. If your child is interested, encourage them to participate in the appropriate netball
activity. However, if your child is not willing to participate, do not force him or her.
Remember, children are involved in organised activity for their enjoyment, not yours.
2. Focus upon your child's efforts and performance rather than the overall outcome of
the event. This assists your child in setting realistic goals related to his/ her ability by
reducing the emphasis on winning.
3. Teach your child that an honest effort is as important as victory, so that the result of
each game is accepted without undue disappointment.
4. Encourage your child to play always according to the rules.
5. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game.
6. Remember that children learn best from example. Applaud good play by all players.
7. If you disagree with an umpire or coach raise the issue through the appropriate
channels rather than question their judgement and honesty in public.
8. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse.
9. Recognise and respect the value and importance of volunteer administrators,
coaches and umpires. They give up their time and resources to provide recreational
activities for players and deserve your support.
10. Be a model of good sports behaviour for children to copy.
11. Be courteous in communication with administrators, coaches, players and umpires.
Teach children to do likewise.
