About Us

Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens
is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and is the historic home
of the founder of the city of San Clemente. Our mission is to
provide programs for all ages in arts, music, history, horticulture,
and literature as a premier Southern California cultural center.
Casa Romantica’s exceptional artistic experiences and idyllic
oceanfront setting enrich the lives of more than 40,000
residents and visitors annually. Our cultural programs are
complemented by numerous free and low-cost arts education
opportunities for children throughout the year, with summer
academies in music and dance as well as children’s concerts,
plays, workshops, exhibition and performance events, and
movement classes that cultivate confidence and creative
thinking from infancy to adulthood.

Shakespeare in
the Gardens

Shakespeare
Festival Guild
CASA THEATER is Casa Romantica’s theater program dedicated
to presenting original and classic works in an innovative way.
Most recently, Casa Romantica partnered with the Troubadour
Theater Company to create the Odd-Essy, a comedic take on
a classic, as well as partnering with The Southern California
Shakespeare Festival Guild for a production of Midsummer
Night’s Dream.
In the 2021-2022 season, Casa Romantica will be continuing its
partnership with the Southern California Shakespeare Festival
Guild to bring our community Shakespeare Scenes and Sonnets
in Casa Romantica’s beautiful gardens.
Guests of the event will travel through the property and
embark on a journey to experience Scenes and Sonnets from
Shakespeare’s works inspired by the flowers.
