We’re reopening our doors and offering you a huge dose of fun!
You’re invited to the witty, wicked and thoroughly twisted world of famed satirical
songwriter Tom Lehrer. Throughout the 1950s and ’60s, Harvard educated math
nerd, Tom Lehrer, delighted millions of fans with his dry and cynical (but still
good-humored) attacks on the A-bomb, racism, pollution, pornography, the
military, the Boy Scouts and, of course, mathematics. Nothing is sacred in this
hysterical revue based on Tom’s numerous, now-classic concert recordings and
TV appearances. Three of Colorado’s favorite musical comedians will perform
some of Lehrer favorites like “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park,” “When You are Old
and Grey,” “The Masochism Tango,” “The Old Dope Peddler” and “The Vatican
Rag,” as well as an unforgettable Gilbert and Sullivan-esque recitation of the
table of elements, all linked together with Tom’s own inimitable concert patter.

Seeking: Ensemble cast with 4 roles for any age over 18, gender or ethnicity.
Actors with a strong ability to connect to the audience are needed.

Black Nativity

We are proud to present Harlem Renaissance poet, Langston Hughes’ song-
play, Black Nativity -- a retelling of the Christmas story from an Afro-centric
perspective. Full of the heart and joy of the season, Black Nativity explores the
depths of cultural identity, pride and unity within the African-American
community. This exquisite piece of theatre is infused with rich, moving music that
uses the sounds, energy and enthusiasm of gospel, blues, jazz and funk music to
tell the Nativity story, creating a holiday show that people of all races and
backgrounds can enjoy this season.

Seeking:
An ensemble of 6 African American performers with strong voices, who move
well. Please be able to harmonize and solo. The piece is very ensemble in
nature.

The Pavilion

Do you remember your high school sweetheart? Are you ready to see them at
your reunion? Craig Wright, acclaimed writer for Six Feet Under, Dirty Sexy
Money and Lost, was nominated for both a Pulitzer Prize and a Drama Desk
Award for this comedic, philosophic, poetic and intensely beautiful drama. After
two decades of failed relationships, Peter returns to his high school reunion
hoping to rekindle his romance with Kari, the girl he abandoned after an
unexpected pregnancy. As the night progresses both Peter and Kari face the
consequences of choices made long ago … and the daunting prospect of starting
again.

Seeking:
Narrator: 35-45, any gender,, any ethnicity; our guide, personable, sly sense of       Commented [BS1]: Is this the current language used to
humor; good language skills; able to tell a good, detailed story. Role requires a      indicate gender? Can this actor be non-binary?
good, versatile character actor, who plays all of the other “alums” (both male and
female Minnesotans) at the class reunion.

Peter: 35-45, male, any ethnicity, decent guy who is haunted by the one wrong
decision in his life--his abandonment of Kari. Now an analyst in St. Paul, he’s in a
life crisis, which has been exacerbated by the reunion. Somewhat of a romantic,
Peter wears his heart on his sleeve and lays his cards on the table. Actor must
also have a pleasant singing voice and play some guitar.

Kari: 35-45, any ethnicity, more practical than Peter. She’s the one who stayed
in the hometown and pulled her life together. She’s compromised for a sense of
security, but that security begins to unravel when old wounds are opened at the
reunion. Needs a sense of humor but also a wide emotional range.

Queens Girl In The World

Come along on the misadventures of bright-eyed, brown-skinned Jacqueline
Marie Butler! When Jacqueline is suddenly uprooted from her protective, middle-
class lifestyle in 1950’s Queens, New York, and dropped into a progressive,
predominantly-Jewish private school in Greenwich Village, comical confusion and
plenty of chaos ensues. Lively and poignant—and punctuated with the irresistible
sound of Motown—Queens Girl in the World tells the tale of one young woman’s
journey through the fish-out-of-water feelings of adolescence, to a time of self-
discovery at the onset of the Civil Rights-era’s social change.

Seeking: An African American woman who can command the stage with humor
and heart in this one-person play. Actor plays Jacqueline Marie Butler (the main
narrator), as well as a dozen other characters.

Lewis Carroll’s classic tale gets a rockin’ reboot in Wonderland: Alice’s Rock
and Roll Adventure! In this new musical by Rachel Rockwell and Michael
Mahler, little Alice leaps through that legendary looking glass and embarks upon
a journey to find... herself! Along the way she’ll face fears, overcome challenges,
and ultimately take on an insidious monster knows as “The Jabberwocky,” made
up of the dark thoughts and self-doubts that lurk inside each and every one of us.
A cast of actor-musicians play live and underscore Alice's big adventure with an
eclectic soundtrack ranging from classic rock and punk, to ska and even a little
bit of Bollywood. Live theatre meets a full out rock concert as Alice sets out on
the adventure of a lifetime, bids farewell to insecurity, and confidently finds her
own voice!

Seeking:
Actors who play instruments are strongly encouraged to audition. All actors
should be comfortable with powerful rock belt.
