H ello Friends!
WLC continues to cultivate and promote artistic expression
as we enter our 24th season. Through the presentation of
professional musicians on campus as part of our Guest Artist
Series, we celebrate the arts, which we view as a treasured
gift from God with the power to transform lives.

Our goal in arts programming at the Center for Arts and Performance is to offer
a diverse range of arts experiences for the purposes of engaging our campus
community, as well as our surrounding community of neighbors. An important part
of our mission is to support and sustain Wisconsin Lutheran College’s commitment
to quality, excellence, and preparing students for lives of Christian leadership. We
continue to pursue this goal by offering master class opportunities for our students
in conjunction with our Guest Artist Series. This season, we welcome Jason Lyle
Black as part of the Piano Celebrations Series. He will offer a master class for
college and high school students studying piano. In the spring semester, Alliance
Brass will also conduct a master class for instrumental brass students.

The efforts of our students are on display throughout the year as they study
their craft and develop their skills and talents through our academic programs
in Art, Music, and Theatre. Each year, Music students and faculty offer choral
and instrumental performances and recitals, Theatre Department mainstage
performances can be seen in the Raabe Theatre, and art exhibits are presented in
the Schlueter Art Gallery. Much of the work you will experience here at the Center
for Arts and Performance results from the dedication of our faculty and students to
artistic expression and creative initiative. None of this would be possible, however,
without you, our patrons. You are the reason we are here as we strive to enhance
understanding and appreciation of our world through the arts.

You may be unaware that ticket sales alone do not cover the cost of presenting
nationally and internationally renowned guest artists at the Center for Arts and
Performance. I am thankful for the generous giving of our friends, neighbors, and
donors who have attended our programs for many years and choose to give above
and beyond the ticket price to support the arts.

Sincerely,

Loni Boyd
General Manager of Fine Arts Programming and Operations

This thrilling show features an explosive mix of circus arts, relentless comedy, award-
winning technology, full-body contortion, juggling, spectacular LED lighting effects,
and upbeat music! AudioBody’s multifaceted training and more than 24 years of
experience in the performing arts has brought them all over the United States and
abroad. Brothers Matthew and Jason Tardy are the original masterminds behind the
AudioBody show. In 2004, after having already toured the country for more than
half their lifetimes as a physical comedy team, they decided to create a new show
that would be the synthesis of music, comedy, and technology. A few years later they
emerged with an arsenal of audio-visual inventions, including wearable electronic
jumpsuits that play music as they move, LED light tubes that are manipulated at
high speeds in the dark, a 15-foot-wide electronic drum-set, fluorescent light ropes
that form the shapes of sound waves, and countless other unique performance
gadgets. AudioBody’s performance is an electronic journey into an unknown realm of
     seriously spectacular entertainment!

The Theatre Department of Wisconsin Lutheran College offers main stage productions
each year in the intimate, 195-seat Raabe Theatre. Under the direction of WLC Theatre
faculty Jay Sierszyn and Simon Provan, productions also feature the artistic leadership
of guest directors and designers from the Milwaukee theatre community, including WLC
Theatre alumni. Students make up the casts and production staffs as they apply their
theatre training toward a vocation in theatre.

shop). Two of the young clerks seek love and companionship through Lonely Hearts
letters - only to find that they’ve already “met their match!” John Chapman in the Daily
News wrote of the original Broadway show that it is “so charming, so deft, so light

clodhoppers!” The 1998 film You’ve Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan is a
modern adaptation of the same story.
