 A Level    2 x A Levels grade C or above

 BTEC       A variety of BTEC diplomas (contact admissions)

 IB         28 points

 GCSE       5 x GCSEs (Level 4-9, must include Maths and English)

You will also be required to submit a portfolio as
part of your application.
Textile Design
•   One of the country’s most established
    Textiles courses

•   Industry focussed course – placement option
    and additional opportunities (e.g.
    competitions and visiting lecturers.)

•   Prepares students to undertake a variety of
    roles in fashion and interior companies,
    including designing, buying, merchandising,
    styling or clothing/textile/colour technology

•   Recent graduate destinations include Harvey
    Nichols, H&M, Jaguar Land Rover,
    Alexander McQueen.

Textile Design cont…
Milliken competition

•   2nd Year Textile students were given a
    brief by Milliken to work on an interior
    design project around floor covering
    designs, along with soft interior
    products.
•   Students had to visualise their design
    outcomes in the proposed spaces to
    create unique, individual, and innovative
    settings.
•   11 students shortlisted, 3 winners
    selected
•   Winners will each get the opportunity to
    have their designs made into fabric tiles
    and displayed at the London showroom.
Fine Art
•   Uses the mediums of drawing, painting, sculpture, print,
    photography, video/sound and digital media to explore the
    possibilities of contemporary Fine Art practice and theory

•   Studio-based, supported by group tutorials, seminars, and
    weekly supervised studio sessions

•   Students are encouraged to gain recognition and
    experience by entering industry renowned competitions,
    including: BP National Portrait Gallery, Bloomberg New
    Contemporaries, Fresh Art Best National Student Award
    and the Sky Arts Landscape of the Year Competition.

Fine Art cont…
Women’s World Cup

Fine Art student Rosanna helped create a range
of football themed t-shirts to commemorate the
2019 Women’s World Cup during her placement
year. She designed 6 t-shirts herself using
watercolours.

Royal Television Society Awards

Fine Art alumnus Alex won 2 awards at the
Royal Television Society’s Student Awards.
After graduating from Loughborough he went on
to complete an MA in Animation at the Royal
College of Art. Alex first developed his animated
documentary practice during his Fine Art BA at
Loughborough.
Graphic Design
• ‘Diagnostic programme’

• Recent graduates have secured roles in
  photography, art direction, graphic design,
  television and film, publishing, app design,
  illustration, video production, art
  buying/editing, advertising, branding.

Graphic Design cont…
New Look placement
Graphic Design student (Abi) had four of her
designs used by major high street retailer, New
Look, after completing a month-long internship
there as part of her placement year.

Penguin Student Design Awards
Current student (Hazel) has been shortlisted
for the Penguin Design Awards from over 2000
entrants for her illustrated cover of The Night
Manager by John le Carré in the Fiction Cover
Award category.
