ABOUT
Welcome to Dancers Paradise Retreat, an invitational,
one-of-a-kind destination dance experience where studios
from all around the world unite to train, grow, audition,
and perform, with some of the industry’s best choreographers
in PARADISE! This is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for
dancers to relax, revitalize, and rejuvenate with their friends,
family, and entire studio.
This experience will be hosted at the luxurious 5-star all-inclusive
resort, Moon Palace, in Cancun, Mexico, July 1-7th, 2019.

HEADLINERS
STACEY TOOKEY
Three time Emmy-nominated choreographer Stacey Tookey is a multitalented Canadian director,
choreographer and dancer who has worked in both concert and commercial platforms throughout
her career. She has worked with legendary musical artists such as Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Christina
Perri, Justin Timberlake, Michael Bublé, Ingrid Michealson and Paula Abdul.
Stacey has performed as a member of Mia Michaels’ contemporary dance company R.A.W., Parsons
Dance Project and Celine Dion’s record-breaking show A New Day at Caesars Palace. Stacey worked
as resident choreographer and guest judge on CTV’s hit So You Think You Can Dance Canada and has
choreographed for the U.S. version of the show for the past 10 seasons, where her passionate pieces
have earned her three consecutive Emmy nominations. Other TV and film choreography credits include
Dancing with the Stars, The James Corden Show, Shia LeBeouf Live, Dance-Off and Fair Market Value.
She has choreographed full length ballets for Cincinnati Ballet and Los Angeles Ballet, and taught at
prestigious Universities such as Loyola Marymount University, University of Jacksonville, Princeton,
Montclair State University and The Juilliard School.
She also tours as part of the faculty for NUVO Dance Convention for the past 8 seasons. Aside from
choreographing, directing, and performing, Stacey has always loved to share her passion for dance.
She has taught worldwide in Italy, Russia, India, Mexico, Costa Rica, Australia and Bermuda, as well as
all across North America
KATE HARPOOTLIAN
Kate is a professional dancer, established choreographer, and contemporary teacher. She
started her training at the Columbia City Jazz Dance Company under the direction of Dale
Lam. Having traveled the world with CCJC, Kate graduated early from high school and
moved to New York City where she studied under Jason Parsons, Heather Lang, Anneke
Hansen, and Shen Wei Dance Arts. She currently dances in Travis Wall's Shaping Sound
Dance Company in Los Angeles. Her work credits include Carrie Underwood’s “Something in
the Water,” Dancing with the Stars, Merce Cunningham’s Inlets II, Boardwalk Empire, Ellen,
SYTYCD Season 12, Billy Bell’s Lunge Dance Collective, works by Jason Parsons, works by
Heather Lang, and Oui Danse.
In 2016 she was the runner up at the Capezio Ace awards for choreography and was given the
opportunity to premiere her work “Better Late Than Never” at the Long Beach Performing Arts
Center, which will be showing at Jacob’s Pillow this Summer. In 2018, she had the opportunity for
a choreographic residency with the students of Lindenwood University. She continues to teach,
choreograph, and mentor young students across the country.

SCOTT FORSYTH
Scott Forsyth, co-founder of Dancers Paradise, has quickly risen to become one of the
most popular and in-demand choreographers in the world. At the age of just 26, he has
already been featured on the top TV shows (NBC's World of Dance, America’s Got Talent),
worked with international music artists (BTS, EXO, Super Junior, Chris Lee) and the most
elite dance camps and competitions worldwide (Urban Dance Camp, FairPlay Dance Camp,
World of Dance, Hip Hop International).
Scott has taught, adjudicated, and choreographed in more than 25 countries and 60 cities in
less than 5 years. With over 12 million channel views, 140,000 Youtube subscribers, and over
110,000 Instagram followers, Scott’s web presence is exploding and influencing millions of
dancers around the world. Known also as the Founder, Director, and Choreographer of 2-time
World Hip Hop Dance Champions, Brotherhood, Scott continues to lead his team, travelling and
showcasing at the most prestigious events around the world.
LIZ TOOKEY
As the Dancers Paradise Program Director, Liz oversees all dance aspects of this
one-of-a-kind experience. She is an icon in the Canadian dance community and has
inspired thousands of dancers around the world. Her credits include assisting Stacey
Tookey on So You Think You Can Dance Canada, assistant choreographer on ABC’s “Once
Upon a Time”, creative team for “Reefer Madness”, and can be seen on various episodes of
CW Network’s “Hellcats” as a featured dancer and as Ashley Tisdale’s dance double. She was
also Maggie Lawson’s dance double in the musical episode of “Psych”, a featured dancer in
Syfy’s Network “Magicians”, Nickelodeon’s “Jinxed” and “The Layover”. She has also spent the
last 10 years teaching and adjudicating across North America.

THE EXPERIENCE
We have specifically developed the 6 Night
Dancers Paradise experience to cater to EVERYONE
that attends, whether you’re a dancer, a teacher,
studio owner, or parent!
DANCERS
Our program is divided into 2 categories: Juniors (age 9-12), and
Teens (age 13 & up). Dancers are expected to be at an intermediate
to advanced level to participate as they will be pushed and chal-
lenged in intensive workshop classes. Dancers will also have the
opportunity to audition in front of our headliners to work with them
in creating an original routine to perform. There will also be the
chance for dancers to be invited to take part in a concept video shoot
around the resort.
TEACHERS/OWNERS
We have a program created for teachers which consists of educational/
creative process classes, training classes, as well as networking events.
As teachers ourselves, we understand the need for teacher training
and how important it is.
PARENTS/CHAPERONES
We keep the dancers so busy that you have time to relax, for once!
You can be as active or zen as you’d like, and enjoy all of the amenities the
resort has to offer. We have planned activities for parents/families while
your dancer is busy doing what they love. If you have another child who
will not be dancing, there is a fabulous “Playroom” for younger guests that
can keep them busy throughout the day. Need a night out and have a
small child? Nanny & babysitting services are also available via the resort
(inquire for costs).

DAILY ITINERARY
DAY 1 WELCOME + ORIENTATION
Welcome to Dancers Paradise, your dance haven for the week!
Unpack your bags, get settled in, and then join your faculty,
hosts, and fellow dancers for a delicious welcome dinner
and orientation. We can’t wait for dancers, parents,
teachers & studio directors from around the world to
make new connections and friendships! All participants
flights must land in Cancun prior to 4pm.
DAY 2
WORKSHOPS/REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE 1
We are producing a show at the resort with each studio allotted 5 minutes of preset performance
material to show what your studio is about. These pieces can be from your competition season,
or something made specifically for this show. For the parents, there is the option of a private
traditional Guacamole making class or a wine/tequila tasting class during rehearsals.

DAY 3
WORKSHOPS, AUDITION AND GOLF TOURNAMENT
Our five world-renowned choreographers will be teaching workshops in their respective genres.
Dancers will train over two days with the hopes of being selected to perform in the second show
via audition. Each faculty member will choose their “team” and will build an original piece of
choreography to be performed at the resort. As a bonus they will also be choosing one dancer
per studio to perform a pre-prepared solo that they will get to perform in the second show.
This intensive training will push dancers, give them more experience with auditions, and
provides a unique opportunity to unite dancers from all different countries and backgrounds
to perform together.

DAY 4
CHOREOGRAPHY CREATION, POOL PARTY, CONCEPT VIDEO SHOOT
The Teens will be joining Stacey Tookey in a contemporary class which will then be
turned into a concept video shot around the resort that can be used for their future
dance reels. After all that hard work, dancers deserve an exciting pool party with a
live DJ and fun pool-side contests. Pieces are now being set on the different groups
in rehearsals.This is followed by the Teachers & Owners private dinner with the
Headliners followed by drinks and continued networking.

DAY 5
TECH REHEARSALS, PHOTOSHOOT AND SECOND PERFORMANCE
Final cleaning/rehearsals in the morning and show in the evening. Dancers are to bring
their basic attire requested so there is a general theme for the show. Our Photographer
will be taking photos on the beach of everyone. For the last performance, we combine
the newly created pieces, selected soloists and professional showcase pieces with an
international comedian that will make for a fantastic show for the whole resort to enjoy.

DAY 6 - FAREWELL PARTY
We end the experience with a free day and a Farewell Dinner & Dance Celebration
on the beach to wrap up our wonderful week spent together in Paradise!
DAY 7 - EXTRA DAY
Most people will be flying home and some may stay to relax and use more of
their resort credits for excursions.

FLOW RIDER
The FlowRider Double Wave Simulator creates two lanes of perfectly
endless waves, pumping thousands of gallons of water over a riding
surface, for hours of surfing excitement for all ages. Kids can body
board or the more advanced participants can use the stand up flow

WIRED TEEN LOUNGE
Wired is a sleek, ultra-modern lounge created by teens for teens. Here,
teenagers can gather to try their luck at state-of-the-art games, surf
the web, watch their favorite television shows and snack on delicious
treats. Also free, endless ice cream! Wired is an electrifying clubhouse
for young adults seeking their own great time and an escape from
mom and dad.
10NIGHT LIFE
For adults, the resort has three different nightlife options: The
Pub, The Sky Bar and Noir, the official nightclub of the resort
which is open until 3 AM.
PLAY ROOM (AGES 4-12)
Kids can play in the Playroom for hours on end with different
game rooms, including a fashion room, beauty salon, a dollhouse
area, arcade and creativity area. The Playroom also boasts an
Xbox room, a simulated race area with “ezy rollers” and an arcade
zone. The kids club also comes complete with a theatre with
plush seating and concessions, two playgrounds (one inside and
one outside), a pirate boat, sandbox and a mini soccer field.
*Children under 4 are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all
times. The Playroom is open 9am-10pm.
