responsible for leading the delivery of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2030 in partnership with
government and industry. A particular focus is on driving tourism and acquiring and developing

Sydney WorldPride
Reporting to the Director, Event Acquisition and Development - Culture, Entertainment & Creative
Industries for Sydney WorldPride 2023 and the Director, Event Acquisition and Development - Sport
and Destination Events for the World Cup events, the Project Manager will lead and project manage
the NSW Government’s event investment in these major events.

The role is responsible for ensuring all NSW Government requirements are delivered in accordance
with the Host City Agreements and/or Strategic Investment Agreements and to lead stakeholder
management and government cross-agency coordination for the delivery of World Cups and Sydney
WorldPride 2023. High level implementation and project management will be a significant focus for
the role, working to maximise the event benefits to the NSW visitor economy.

To be considered for this role you will be a highly skilled project manager, “chameleon-like” in your
ability to adapt to changes in events, competing demands, timelines and priorities while utilising your
superior communication skills swiftly building relationships and credibility with stakeholders
including Local Organising Committees, NSW Government Steering Committees and Working
Groups. You will be the champion for these events leading inter-agency planning and cross-
government co-ordination. You must be comfortable leading, conversing and influencing people at
all levels and come to the role with a clear understanding of government investment in major events.

The successful candidate will be an individual that possesses drive, passion, initiative and enjoys
thinking on their feet, working in a dynamic and demanding environment seamlessly navigating
through changing and often competing priorities and deadlines under pressure. You will be a quick
thinker and able to solve problems on the run without compromising the event deliverables and
commercial impact on the tourism visitor economy.

You will need to have relevant experiences gained at similar scaled programs or events, with an
emphasis across high level contract management, monitoring and analysis of key deliverables,
overseeing governance, budget management and event activation projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across the biggest sporting and cultural events in NSW and
Australia over 2022 and 2023.
