DIPLOMA OF REMEDIAL MASSAGE

OVER VIEW
Incorporating the Certificate IV and Diploma programs into one remedial massage course, these studies will
provide you with the skills you require for complete competence in remedial massage practice. On
successful completion you may be self-employed as an independent practitioner or may work within a
larger health service. With your intensive training, you will be able to apply for provider recognition with
health funds.
This course also provides you with a direct pathway into the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy 22316VIC as
an opportunity to advance your training and knowledge to the next level.

The method of assessment varies and can include (but is not limited to):

DUR ATION
Full-time: 12 months

DELIVER Y SCHEDULE

       On-campus: 2022 intake commencing 14 February. Three days per week, (Mondays to Wednesdays),
       9am-4pm
       Traineeship: 2022 intake commencing 14 February. Individual training plans will be developed in
       consultation with your employer, as part of your traineeship.

FIELD PLACEMENT

       Students must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of their first clinical placement.
       Students will complete 200 hours of clinical placement throughout the course. During relevant
       stages of the course, all students will be scheduled to take part in a supervised student massage
       clinic at Wodonga TAFE, which is open to the public. There is also an expectation that students will
       practice their skills in the broader community.
       Students will also participate in on-site placement opportunities which will be arranged by your
       placement coordinator. The times and days of these sessions may vary to suit the establishment of
       which the student will be attending.
       Students may be required to have a current police check, and working with children check to attend
       specific clinical placement venues.

R EQUIR EMENTS

       Successful applicants for this course will be required to obtain a Working with Children’s Check and
       may be asked to apply for a National Police check prior to placement.
       Successful applicants for this course will be required to provide evidence of immunisation records
       (for placement).
       On receipt of your course application you will be emailed an ‘Application Requirement Questionnaire’
       electronic form and you will be required to provide evidence of a Victorian Working With Children’s
       Check (WWCC).
       All applicants understand there is a selection process that applies to all courses. This process
       includes: LLN (Language, Literacy & Numeracy) Assessment; Written Tasks; Group Interview.
       Once you submit an application for this course you will receive a separate email from LLN Robot to
       complete a Learning, Reading, Writing, Oral and Numeracy test online. Please check your junk mail if
       this does not come to your inbox.
       Please allow one hour to complete the LLN Robot assessment. You will need a computer with
       speakers or headphones as there is an audio section in the assessment.
       Your LLN Assessment will need to be completed one week after receiving it to progress your
       application to the next stage, or your application may be withdrawn due to inactivity.
       If you are unable to access the LLN Robot link please contact our Customer Experience team as soon
       as possible.
       Note: Completion of and passing the LLN Robot Assessment does not guarantee a place in the
       course at Wodonga TAFE. Numbers are limited and selected applicants will be contacted to attend
       an interview.
       If an applicant is not accepted into their preferred course they will be contacted and provided
       information on alternate pathways and/or courses.
You will also need a high level of maturity and responsibility to cope with the demands of academic and
practical aspects of this course.

Government Funded $9,108.50 (Tuition $8,815.00, Materials $293.50)
Fee For Service $14,397.50 (Tuition $14,104.00, Materials $293.50)

The student tuition fees published are indicative only and can be subject to change given individual
circumstances at the time of enrolment. Funding made available to eligible individuals by State and
Commonwealth Governments. If funding is utilised, this may affect future opportunities to access additional

       Successful completion of this course provides you with a direct pathway into the Advanced Diploma
       of Myotherapy 22316VIC, as an opportunity to advance your training and knowledge to the next level.
       Completion of the course will provide academic eligibility for membership with associations such as
       the Australian Association of Massage Therapists Ltd (AAMT) and other industry associations.

PATHW AYS
Continue your studies into the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy to add further knowledge and practical
experience to your range of professional skills.
Your studies in the Diploma of Remedial Massage may also lead you into further studies in the following
courses at various universities, including Bachelor of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Therapy), Bachelor of
Health Science (Complementary Medicine), and Bachelor of Rehabilitation. Please check with individual
universities for further information.
