We Are Accelerating Learning for Our Students • We are emerging from the pandemic • We are doing everything we can to keep our kids in school this year so we can accelerate learning and provide needed social-emotional supports • Staff vaccine mandate • New quarantine guidelines to allow many asymptomatic students to quarantine in the classroom instead of at home • Continue to follow rigorous COVID protocols (universal indoor masking, social distance of at least 3 feet, staff and students staying home when sick) • Investing in supports at our schools – examples: • Social workers in every building (38 new this year) • 45 reading specialists • Focus on use of data to ensure success 10
How Can Parents Support Accelerated Learning? Ask Questions! • When you talk to teachers ask questions such as: • “How are temperature checks going?” • “How is my child doing in ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science?” • “How can I support this work at home?” 11
