Education is Our Core Business
Vision:
Cincinnati Public Schools will be a community that ensures
equitable access to a world-class education, unleashing the
potential of every student.

Mission:
We educate all students with rigor and care in a culture of
excellence to develop engaged citizens who are prepared for life.

                                                               9
We Are Accelerating Learning for Our Students
• We are emerging from the pandemic
   • We are doing everything we can to keep our kids in school this year so we can
accelerate learning and provide needed social-emotional supports
       • Staff vaccine mandate
       • New quarantine guidelines to allow many asymptomatic
students to quarantine in the classroom instead of at home
       • Continue to follow rigorous COVID protocols
(universal indoor masking, social distance of at least 3 feet,
staff and students staying home when sick)

• Investing in supports at our schools – examples:
   • Social workers in every building (38 new this year)
   • 45 reading specialists

• Focus on use of data to ensure success

                                                                                 10
How Can Parents Support Accelerated Learning?
 Ask Questions!
• When you talk to teachers ask questions such as:
   • “How are temperature checks going?”
   • “How is my child doing in ELA, Math, Social Studies,
     Science?”
   • “How can I support this work at home?”

                                                            11

What is Bullying Behavior?

 Bullying Behavior is when
 someone repeatedly and
 on purpose says or does
 mean or hurtful things to
 another person who has a
 hard time defending
 himself or herself.

 Program
Four Key Parts to Bullying Behaviors
❏ Repetitive
❏ Deliberate
❏ Hurtful
❏ Involves a Power Imbalance

If all four of these are not a part of the interactions, it is most
                        likely a peer conflict.
