ABOUT ENGINEER’S DAY

Engineer’s Day is celebrated on 15th
September as a tribute to Bharat Ratna Shri
M. Visvesvaraya, on his birth anniversary. It
is also marked as the Foundation Day of Fac-
ulty of Technology (FT), CEPT University.

On this occasion, the student and faculty body take up a socially
relevant subject that concerns Ahmedabad. Extensive study on
the selected topic is done through a survey carried out by the
student body and the results are presented in front of experts in
the field on Engineer’s Day. The event is also marked by erection
of structure, showcasing of academic works and wall paintings.

HOW WE CELEBRATE ENGINEER’S DAY
• We, students of Faculty of Technology take up a socially
relevant subject to sensitize the students towards their societal
commitement and in the process to help society.

• Study is done through a survey carried out by the student body
in and around Ahmedabad and analysis is done for the same.

• The outcome of the study is presented on 15th September
before a panel of experts consisting of officials, engineers, ar-
chitects, structural consultants, contractors and other concerned
authorities.

•For the past 20 years, Faculty of Technology has been celebrating
Engineer’s day on 15th September and this year too it is planned
to celebrate with full participation of our students and faculties.

            OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
•The objective of this E-Day initiative is to create mass aware-
ness and have an impact for accessibility, which will enable
differently abled people to live independently and participate in
all aspects of life.

•The buildings will be surveyed and shall be evaluated for the
accessibility based on standards and the identified barriers will
be looked into to enhance accessibility with a user friendly de-
sign.

                 SCOPE OF THE WORK
• Problems in accessibility that are faced by differently abled
  people and elderly people
• Majorly focusing on disability in movement, hearing, and sight
• Targetting public spaces & institutional building
