ESGE Days 2019 taking place on 4-6 April 2019 in the wonderful city Prague. We hope that
you will enjoy our comprehensive programme that will showcase innovative ideas and
practices for the entire Endoscopy team.. There is a lot in store for the nursing community.

The success of an endoscopy unit is reliant on a well-functioning multidisciplinary team working
together towards a common goal of safe and effective patient care. ESGE and ESGENA
strongly believe that it is ideal when the endoscopy team learns together.
Based on this, the ESGENA Spring School is an integral part of the ESGE Days offering
    • Joined sessions for physicians and nurses with interactive discussions, debates and
        live demonstration and
    • special sessions for nurses focusing on patient care, assistance and management
        issues

Nurses are able to register at a discounted rate; you will need an individual number to complete

Friday: ESGE and ESGENA joint sessions:
Learn as a team and join us for the ESGE and ESGENA sessions. The focus will be on such
topics as the endoscopy working environment, management of endoscopy units, sedation and
hygiene. Pro-contra debates will discuss competing responsibilities, emergency and outbreak
management, education, specialization, advanced roles and much more…

ESGENA Spring School:
Are you young (or young at heart) and motivated? Then join us on Saturday at the Spring
School! Patient care and assistance in endoscopy require specialised knowledge and skills.
The ESGENA Spring School Sessions combine
   • discussions on case studies and worst-case scenarios
   • state-of-the-art lectures on the nurse´s role in therapeutic endoscopy
   • round table discussions about different concepts of advanced roles in GI Nursing.

Learning from real scenarios brings home the lessons we can learn from practice, reflecting on these
accounts brings home the challenges of deliverying care in the ever-evolving endoscopy specialty.
Various solutions can be discussed in small groups or in plenary raising controversial and challenging
situations. Collegial and supportive discussion is an integral part of this session.
The session addresses the following areas:
    • Patient care in endoscopy – Focus on quality and safety

    • Proper reaction – Prevention of adverse events and complications
    • Sleep well and safely - questions about sedation and patient monitoring
