About Rhubarb Theatre
Rhubarb Theatre delivers creative, original and theatrical experiences to entertain
and stimulate imaginations of every age.
Started in November 2000 by professional actors
Philip and Kirsty Mead, Rhubarb Theatre tours
internationally with a diverse programme of
performances, street theatre, storytelling and
workshops.
Rhubarb always delight with their exciting and
original adventures and have entertained audiences
of all ages in schools, theatres, heritage sites,
festivals and arts centres.
They have toured to thousands of venues across the
UK and beyond, taken premieres to the nationally
acclaimed SPARK Children's Festival and Sydney
Contemporary Art Gallery and are regular performers
at Glastonbury as well as many other festivals,
including Latitude, Wilderness, YNot Festival, Chilled in a Field, Boomtown,

The Bombardiers
FAMILY FRIENDLY STREET THEATRE
Tally ho and chocks away. Three courageous airmen, Roger, Reggie and Rupert are
returning from battle when their trusty aeroplane is caught in a freak storm. The
daring heroes bravely leap from the craft and find themselves hurled far and wide.
Armed only with their wits and extremely good looks, who knows where they’ll end
up, what adventures they’ll find and if they’ll ever be reunited…
The Bombardiers is a fun and wacky street theatre piece, perfect for vintage events,
flying themed events, or just simply a great giggle.

Sun, sand, seagulls and a magical beach hut? This is no ordinary day at the seaside…
Our vivacious Victorian paddlers are all at sea for some slapstick adventure and
summertime fun. See Rhubarb’s bathing buddies take the plunge, sort their
swimwear, practice some strokes and try to avoid the sharks! Making a big splash,
they’ll surf the waves of adventure and dive deep into hi-jinks and hilarity.
Grab your bucket and spade and hold onto your swim-hats as The Big Dippers set
off on their splendid seaside adventures!

The Time Machine
FAMILY FRIENDLY STREET THEATRE – ONE WOMAN SHOW!
Irene the Inventor is lost in space and her time machine is ticking her off. Every
second counts, so can you help her in her hour of need? But watch out, once she
clocks you, she will whisk you off to a Victorian school room, a Roman invasion and
even take you as far back as the time of the dinosaurs. So, hold onto your pants
because this is an adventure not to be missed.

A fantastically funny festival show about 3 quirky characters that meet by chance at
a train station. Where is the train? Will it arrive? As time tick-tocks onwards the 3
accidental companions become more and
more playful, passing the time in
adventurous and exciting ways –
who knows what might happen next?
Full of mime, physical theatre, music and
fun, this is a slapstick Rhubarb Theatre
street-treat for all the family!
Duration: This show is extremely flexible
and can be performed over slots between
10-30mins. The piece is ideal for filling
repeated slots throughout an event.

The Admirable Admirals
WILD AND WACKY WALKBOUT CHARACTERS
Hoist the flag and shout Aye-aye! The Admirable Admirals are one of Rhubarb
Theatre’s hilarious walk-about characters and they’ll be dropping anchor at festivals
and events across the UK.
Nelly, Bones and Fred are here to battle flying fish, each other and any unsuspecting
passers-by with their water pistols and salty sea-dog ways.
Duration: These crazy characters are available to roam and interact with your visitors across
a site, for repeated slots, throughout the duration of your event.

Hear ye, hear ye, hangeth out thy banners, filleth up thy tankards and with thy
mightiest of voices shout hurrah! Our brave and dashing heroes-on-horseback THE
GOOD KNIGHTS are here to save the day, whether you liketh it or not. Armed with
their trusty dusters, litter pickers and shaketh-&-vac, our courteous gents are ready
to please and their quest is to help you!!!
These knights in ‘polished’ armour are here to help any unsuspecting passers-by, but
with so many good deeds to be done, one might get a little sleepy. Zzzzzz – Good
night, sir knight.

Watch out! Who let the kids loose?! The Kiddie-Winkles are Rhubarb Theatre’s
newest walkabout characters. These three cheeky-yet-lovable rogues will be up to
all kinds of silly pranks and hilarious naughtiness, as they romp around the Festival
making a general nuisance of themselves - yet putting smiles on everyone’s faces.

NEW 2021/22 Indoor Family Touring Stage Show
Dustbin Doris
In a makeshift cardboard home-made home
Lives a kind old lady with a heart of gold.
Rescuing creatures great and small,
Dustbin Doris will amaze us all.
It’s bin collection day and our two
heroic waste collectors Max and
Ola are racing to make up lost
time. But what’s this? A dustbin
that refuses to release its
contents! What could be attached?
It’s Doris, the dotty old lady who
lives in the park. A struggle ensues
as she clings onto her possessions.
But every bin has a silver liner. So,
when the pair of refuse loaders
realise that ‘one man’s trash is
another woman’s treasure’, an
amazing trove of wonderous tales
recycle their way out of the
rubbish.
Rhubarb Theatre, known for their
imaginative styles of storytelling,
perform their latest bin-full of
fantasy for all the family.
Prepare for joy and tenderness, laughter and tears, with surprises around every corner. Dustbin

Tech Requirements:
Rhubarb Theatre are used to performing anywhere, from the middle of a field to a
busy city centre. All we require is a flat space to perform on. Our sound doesn’t
require an electricity hook-up, there are no cables.
Some of our shows have set, others don’t, we can work around your needs. We just
need to be able to access our van easily.
