4During the Pandemic, I am Grateful for:
Having retired almost 3 years ago, our financial position is fairly secure.
Consequently the effects of COVID-19 have been nothing more than
an inconvenience for us. However, Kathy's brother Gary, is in a skilled
nursing facility, and the restrictions have caused major issues. People are
coping as best they can. Please pray for him. While it's not like being there, I
can attend men's group Zoom meetings even when out of town. One of the
bright spots to the situation.
– Tom
What I am most grateful for, in the midst of this pandemic, is the opportu-
nity to grow, through the Holy Spirit, in my adoration of the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit, and my prayer life. I am also very, very, very grateful
whenever God lets me participate in little ways in the outpouring of His
mercy.
– John
I am thankful for being able to be once again attending Mass and receiving
communion weekly, including thanks to all who work so hard to bring that
about with the music and singing as well.
I am thankful for friends (especially our small group) and family for their
efforts to stay in touch even though mostly remotely, thanks to Zoom etc.
– Stan
What am I most grateful for in the midst of the pandemic? The grace of
knowing that my beloved wife is in the hands of our loving Lord and Jesus
Christ. That she has met and touched Him.
– Corb
Even though a painful process to not see many loved ones, family, friends,
church family and those I serve, it’s also been a blessing to slow down, enjoy
home, my husband, re-read good books and relish in God’s love and comfort
with hardly any expectations from me! “Be still and know that I am God.”
The gift of time, and now to evaluate how I plan to move forward with this
gift.
– Nancy
I am grateful for my family and friends. I’m also grateful for zoom which
lets us connect with one another when we can’t be together.
– Gail
I am grateful for the ability to breathe. What I have rediscovered is: being
silent whether I am in the presence of others or alone, showers me with
heavenly peace.
– Smilie
I am grateful for the ability to go to Mass and the dedication of Fr Jim and
Fr Lou, my family, my health and my job. Blessings during this time: being
forced to slow down and reevaluate things, the gift of appreciating things I
took for granted before.
– Michaela
I am so thankful for all the first responders, health care workers, front-line
workers, Father Jim, Father Lou, and all the SMP staff for all that you do.
I am forever grateful. I'm so grateful for my family and everyone at Saint
Michael. God bless you, my friends. Love, prayers and blessings.
– Lisa
5What Can You Give
to Change the World?
Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
Matthew 25:37
Read Matthew 25:31-40 and pray with it as you also consider our Lenten Reflection:
Reflect on how caring for our neighbor is caring for Christ.
Our almsgiving has the power to transform the world. This year's CRS Rice Bowl focus is
on food related initiatives in Madagascar, El Salvador, and Timor Leste. The initiative in
Madagascar focuses on family nutrition and teaching families about nutrition in order to
create new generational trends.
This Lent, consider abstaining from eating meat each Friday as a way to experience a little
bit of the hunger that many experience daily. Dedicate this week's Meatless Friday to those
around the world in need of a nutritious meal, and hold this prayer in your heart as you
prepare this recipe from Madagascar.

Christmas GIVING TREE
A BIG THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO SUPPORTED LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED
Over $11,500 was donated to help support the Christmas Giving Tree. Those donations were used to purchase gift cards and
donated to families in need during Advent. As an extra bonus, we were able to purchase the gift cards using the St. Michael Parish
School Scrip gift card program which earned the school $300! Your generosity not only helped families get Christmas gifts for
their kids, but also supported St. Michael Parish School!

life affirming services. Statewide, PREPARES has supported
thousands of families with one-on-one companionship and child
essentials.
