Introduction
About the championships
Birmingham is the host City for the
2023 FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World
Championships & FIG Trampoline Gymnastics
World Age Group Competitions.
The FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships
are the FIG’s pinnacle event in the discipline. The 2023
World Championships (Individual Trampoline discipline)
will be the primary qualification event for the 2024
Paris Olympic Games.
The event will be staged in Birmingham, in the venue
which previously hosted these championships 2011,
Utilita Arena Birmingham. The championships will be
one of the first major sport events to be staged in the
city following the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Over 1,000 gymnasts from over 50 countries will
compete, with projected spectator attendance of over
20,000 across the two weeks of the championships.
The city and the sport have ambitious plans to deliver
a world class event which will also deliver significant
social benefits to city residents.
The Championships have been awarded to British
Gymnastics following a successful bid to the FIG.
Birmingham City Council shall be responsible for the
delivery of the championships, with the sport aspects
managed by British Gymnastics.

The FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships will create moments
that inspire and amaze, showcasing the athletes and the city like never
before. It will engage the diverse communities of Birmingham, bringing them
together at an event that people want to be a part of.

to perform at their absolute peak, with British and local athletes leading
the way.

of pride, joy and positivity.

Through hosting the championships, they will be more prosperous,
active, healthy and happy, and proud to be a part of Birmingham.

An unforgettable championships watched across the UK and the globe,
showcasing the sport like never before and fitting of Birmingham’s proud
sporting heritage and world class venues.

Championing social and environmental responsibility, delivered on budget

About the
Championship Board
The Championships Board will oversee the delivery of the strategic goals and
associated objectives of the Championships. The board will be made up of
representatives of Birmingham City Council, British Gymnastics, NEC Group and UK
Sport, plus three independent board members one of which will be an experienced
elite trampoline gymnast (already appointed).
The board will have the following responsibilities (but not limited to):
• Setting the strategy and objectives
• Monitoring and where appropriate approval of event budget and financial
planning
• Monitoring & managing risk
• Stakeholder management and liaison
• Monitoring operational progress and readiness
• Post event review
