Letter from a Numat farmer… The 2017 season was going well at the start of summer. We had good rainfall in
January and the grass was green and plentiful. It was the first time in my 15-year

Then in March we had the Tasman Tempest. 200 mm of rain. Flooding. And the
grass was long at the time. So, with the extreme summer heat and flooding my
grass started to get pretty long and yellow at the base. Nothing we couldn’t handle
