A Look Back at Virtual Zoofari 2020 When the Covid-19 pandemic made it impossible to host Zoofari 2020 in its traditional format, Chairs Michelle and Peter Barrett decided to take a completely different approach. While in typical years, Zoofari sells out and has a capacity limit of 2,600 guests – Peter and Michelle wanted to make Zoofari 2020 available to everyone! Thus was born Virtual Zoofari, a digitally streamed event on Friday, September 25, 2020 that has been viewed on Facebook Live and YouTube more than 25,000 times! Virtual Zoofari was hosted by the Zoo’s Director Thane Maynard and WKRC Anchor Bob Herzog. The evening consisted of a tour through the Zoo, up-close encounters with some of the Zoo’s biggest superstars, including Fiona the Hippo & Rico the Porcu- pine, celebrity special appearances, an animal art auction and much more. Thanks to the continuing support of sponsors, including presenting sponsor Western & Southern Financial Group and Fort Washington Investment Advisors, the Zoo was able to raise a total of over $600,000 to support its emergency operating fund. Additional corporate sponsors included Lexus, Bank of America, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Accenture, Chemed Corporation, Kroger, Interim Healthcare, Hyde Park Bridal, Luma Financial Technologies, and more.

As Greater Cincinnati’s see-and-be-seen event of the season, Zoofari 2021, led
by returning Chairs Michelle and Peter Barrett, will attract over 1600 guests.
Zoofari is the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s premiere party with a
purpose. Zoofari raises integral support for the care and sustainability of
almost 400 animal and 3000 plant species, groundbreaking conservation
efforts, and educational outreach programs. A fabulously-sensational evening,
it’s a beloved favorite of the region and the most fun you’ve ever had at a
fundraiser! And - for the first time ever - Zoofari will take place
THROUGHOUT THE ZOO!
Gone is the familiar giant white tent as we spread this mad tea party around
the full Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. Zoofari will look like you’ve never
seen before, and comfortable shoes will be important for more than just
dancing! Expect your usual favorite dinner-by-the-bite samples from local
restaurants, creative cocktails, and entertainment while wandering through
themed sections of the Zoo under the stars.
