FUEL-EFFICIENCY TECHNOLOGY TREND ASSESSMENT FOR LDVS IN CHINA: TRANSMISSION TECHNOLOGY

technology summarizes its poten-
tial for reducing fuel consumption.
In most cases, the reduction poten-
tial is compared with a designated
baseline. The number represents an
impact range considering the differ-
ences in baseline vehicles’ segment,
specifications, and other elements.

Based on the application status of
transmission technologies in China,
we group them into three categories:

Commercialized technologies.
These are already adopted on at
                                               Fuel efficiency /
least several production models in GHG reducing
China and could be applied widely technologies
through the fleet.

Emerging technologies. While
available on passenger cars in the
Chinese market, these have been
adopted on only a couple of models,
such as variants of flagship models
or luxury vehicles that target at high-
end users.

Underdeveloped technologies. Such Percentages in () are fuel consumption/GHG emission reduction potential
