Fundraising together - it’s a piece of cake!
It’s time to don your apron and dig out those mixing bowls to support
our annual Bake for Bobath campaign.

Fundraising will be a piece of cake if we all lend a hand and get
baking this March!

Last year, with the help of schools, nurseries, families and businesses all
over Wales, we managed to raise over £10,000! You can help us beat
that fantastic total in 2020 by holding a bake sale. In this pack, you’ll
find everything you need to put on a Bake for Bobath event including
a poster, fundraising ideas and some great recipes!

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales provides specialist therapy to
children all over Wales with cerebral palsy. This year, we need £1.8m
to keep our Centre running with approximately 80% of that coming
from donations, gifts in wills, retail and fundraising activities.

So whether you’re a seasoned supporter or a bake sale novice,
please get baking for Bobath this March!

                                                                                                                                     130ml milk
                                                                                                                    1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 tbsp melted butter (allowed to cool slightly) or olive oil, plus extra for cooking

                                            Method
1.Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and caster sugar into a large bowl.
                                             2. In a separate bowl or jug, lightly whisk together the milk and egg, then whisk in the melted butter
                                             or oil.
                                             3. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and beat until you have a smooth batter, using a fork.
Keep mixing to get rid of any lumps. Let the batter stand for a few minutes.
                                             4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add a knob of butter. When it has melted,
add a ladle of batter. It will seem very thick but this is normal. Wait until the top of the pancake
begins to bubble, then turn it over and cook until both sides are golden brown and the pancake has
risen to about 1cm (½in) thick.
                                             5. Repeat until you’ve used all the batter. You can keep the pancakes warm in a low oven but
they’re at their best straight out of the pan!
                                             6. Serve with maple syrup, bacon, honey, banana or chocolate spread – whatever you fancy!
