L: Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love;
P: According to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
L: Against you alone I have sinned and done what is evil in your sight,

P: Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit.
*Opening Prayer (Offered by all)
Merciful God, we know our transgressions, and our sins are always with us. We
know that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. Do not cast us
away from your presence but hide your face from our sins. Teach us your wisdom
and grant us your truth. Amen.

The Prayer Jesus taught us
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

Invitation
L: God be with you.
P: And also with you.
L: Lift up your hearts.
P: We lift them to God.
L: Let us give thanks to God Most High.
P: It is right to give God thanks and praise.
L: It is right, and a good and joyful thing...
join with your faithful people everywhere to glorify you:
Holy, holy, holy, God of love and majesty, the whole universe speaks of your
glory, O God Most High. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of our God!
Hosanna in the highest!
We remember…
…Therefore, we proclaim the mystery of our faith:
P: Christ has died.
   Christ is risen.
   Christ will come again.
Sharing the Elements
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Eternal God, you have called your people from east and west and north and
south to your table. By the power of your Holy Spirit, keep us faithful to your
will. Go with us into the world so that, whether we are gathered or scattered,
we may be your servant church of the servant Christ, in whose name we pray.
Amen.

Affirmation of Mission Participants
L: All life is a call and a response. God calls us into new life, and we respond by
sharing that life with others. God calls each of us to be present in this world, to bring
joy and renewing love to all God’s children. God calls us this day.
Participants: God calls us to this mission!

L: God calls us to give ourselves fully to those who are in need. God calls us to be
present with those who feel alone or unloved. God calls us this day.
Participants: God calls us to this mission!
L: God calls us to celebrate the diversity of creation and respect all we meet. We are
builders of the Body of Christ. God calls us this day.
Participants: God calls us to this mission!
L: In God we live and move and have our being.
Participants: Amen.
L: In life, we receive and extend many invitations, spoken and unspoken, in friendship
and in need, but sometimes we are unable to hear or accept these invitations from one
another.
Participants: May we be led by God to see beyond our daily routines and to hear
and accept the call to meet the needs of others. In Christ may we leave old ways behind
and follow in his footsteps.
Congregation Response: Go, as part of God’s loving creation, to show those you
meet that God dwells among us. Go, and we will go with you in thought and
prayer. Go, and make a difference in Christ’s name.
Participants: We accept the call to go to West Virginia and extend the hospitality this
congregation demonstrates within this community. We pray for God to guide our efforts
and provide a safe experience. May we represent Glade United Church of Christ and our
God to the best of our ability.
L: May God Bless you as you extend this congregation’s love and hospitality to people
you do not yet know.
ALL: May God bless us and our mission. Amen.
