PRESIDENT'S REMARKS
President’s Remarks: We would like to congratulate Lou
Kasza for her Best of Show, oil/acrylic work “Sticks and

Stones”! It was selected by our Judge, Chuck
McPherson, in our 2021 Annual Members’ Show. He
was impressed on what she accomplished with a limited
palette. Congratulations again and to all the other ribbon
winners and thank you for your support! We have
already calendared our 2022 show to March.
Since our last meeting, special thanks to many are in
order. We more than appreciate those Members who
gave donations to the organization. Special thanks,
indeed! Thanks also to Members who gave extra time to
Display our Monthly shows, support our Take-in needs
and host during particularly difficult times.
Conspicuously in the latter is our Gallery Director
Gertrude Lewis-Schlegel. Not only has she continuously
been involved in the training of new Members, but has
spent countless hours in filling open spots for hosting.
She kept the Gallery open and thus available for sales.
We appreciate Gertrude and thank her greatly.
In upcoming scheduled events our May Regular Show
Judge is Helen Shafer Garcia. In June Kathleen Scoggin,
is judging our Regular Show which includes our very
popular “Abstract” Show-in-Show. July’s Judge is Tina
Navarrete. Keeping our judging up-to-speed is our Show
Director, Nancy Klaphaak, who has had to juggle the
challenges of COVID-19 on getting quality judges
scheduled. Kudos to Nancy!

Our focus is already on our 2021 Annual Open Show in
August. Entries are Virtual via Onlinejuriedshows.com.
We are sensitive to our Members needs in getting their
images submitted. We will be offering time-slots at the
Gallery for you to bring in your images and have them
entered by us therefore not having to hassle the computer
yourself. Details will be forthcoming.
So glad to be “Open” and invite you to be part of our
Organization if you are not already!

GALLERY DIRECTOR'S REMARK
Wow, the Member’s Show is spectacular. The Reception
was a big success that was attended by many members,
and if you weren’t there you must try see the Member’s
show this month. Congratulations to the winners, and to
the many who have sold their art.

that they are now ticketing cars in the parking lot over
the time limit, and we need to be parking in the
Employee Lot. This lot is located on the North side of
Grand Avenue behind SPIN Record store. You must
have a parking permit, and they are located in the right,
top drawer of the desk. Just remember to return the
parking permit, as we only have a small, limited supply.
When you make a sale, I want to emphasize the
importance of completing a sales slip. It is from this slip
of information that you, the artist, get paid. If possible,
please include the title, and indicate either SW, C or W
(Shrink wrap, Cards, or Wall Art). The price does
include sales tax, so you do not have to calculate. If
anyone has questions, please call me.
Effective with our May show, the gallery hours on
Friday and Saturday will be extended from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Also, we will continue to have an Early Take-In table
setup in the back of the gallery the weekend before the
Monday take-in for you who need it.

**NOTE TO GALLERY HOSTS
Beginning July 27, 2020, access to the restrooms will
change from key access to a four-digit code, which will
change monthly. There will be a "tent" on the desk with
the updated codes.
