Covid plan

In planning for this years NZ Gymnastics Championships, it has been important that consideration
has been given to the potential impact of Covid-19 and to have contingencies for operating at
different alert levels. As we have seen, alert levels may be different across the country. The
following outlines what will happen at the various alert levels in Auckland.

                                      Level 4: Event Cancelled
                                      Level 3: Event Cancelled
Level 2: Event delivered with significant changes to meet the bubble requirements. The goal is for
each gymnast to still get a chance to compete. Please see plan attached.
We have worked with the venue to enable us to deliver in a Covid Level 2 Scenario and this plan
has been approved and is now locked in.
Level 1: Timetable as per normal with changes to Ceremonies. Ministry of Health advice on
running events in level 1 will be adhered to.
Please click here for the Covid Level 2 draft timetable

Venue
Due to the large size of the venue and the time of year we wish advise everyone to come prepared in
case we have a cold snap and the venue is not as warm as we would like. We have looked into
measures of heating the venue, however we have been advised that there is no possible way to
introduce additional heating to a venue of this scale.

For the safety of all our athletes we encourage the use of thermals under tracksuits. Tracksuits/ smart
additional clothing can be utalised to keep gymnasts warm. The only times that athletes are expected
to not wear their tracksuits is competing and warming up on the equipment (with the exception of
floor if necessary) and ultimately it is the responsibility of athletes and their coaches to monitor their
