BAD WEATHER ALTERNATIVES
In case of bad weather that make play at one or more sites impossible, the
Tournament Committee may choose any way it deems necessary to finish the
tournament by the scheduled time. This in line with the GLTA rules.

In these situations the tournament committee could be forced to let divisions
play on more than one type of surface (we will try to avoid this). This will occur
when the tournament cannot be finished on schedule at the outside courts.

It could also mean that:
- consolations will be cancelled.
- we will be forced to let matches play on alternative venues.
- in the event of period of rain, we will reschedule matches towards indoors.
- This could also mean that there will be matches rescheduled indoors towards
a time it is already dry outside. This could mean that we have matches
scheduled outdoors & indoors to catch up time.

We will do our best to avoid the situations described above.

Alternative venues in case of bad weather
Initially, we will use the indoors courts of Amstelpark Tennis Centre. We could be
forced to schedule matches towards Tennis Park Buitenveldert or Frans Otten
Stadion. Please see next page for how to get there.

Outreach and Lottery
The Pinkster Tournament is proud of its tradition to support gays and lesbians in
more difficult parts of the world. Every year we choose a group or initiative in the
LGBT network who fight for equal rights for homosexual men, lesbian women, bi-
sexuals and transgenders

2019 Charity – Secret Garden Foundation
Secret Garden is a foundation focused on LGBTQI’s (Lesbian / Gay / Bisexual and
Transgender) with a Muslim or other ethnic-cultural background, based in
Amsterdam. Secret Garden offers information and support to these groups on
various topics and activities. To persons who are threatened by family and/or put
on the streets, Secret Garden supports through her volunteer network shelter
and psychological support.

In addition, Secret Garden supports on a daily basis LGBTQI+ asylum seekers in
the Netherlands who come from countries where they cannot be open about their
sexual orientation, it is forbidden or even involves life-threatening situations.
Over the last three years, Secret Garden has supported more than 500 refugees
and asylum seekers. Secret Garden wants to create more awareness of the
specific problems of LGBTQIs with a migrant background and contribute to
increasing the acceptance of LGBTQI’s in their own community.

Furthermore, Secret Garden organizes courses, debates, language lessons and
recurring events such as Oriendam.

PADEL
Padel is a racquet sport. It is different from the
sport known in the US and Canada as paddle
tennis

Padel is typically played in doubles on an
enclosed court a third the size of a tennis court.
Scoring is the same as normal tennis and the
balls used are similar but with a little less
pressure. The main differences are that the court
has walls and the balls can be played off them in
a similar way as in the game of squash and that
solid, stringless racquets are used. The height of the ball being served must be at
or below the waist level.

You can see and try it out at the Padel demonstration and work out!

Sunday 11.30 – 13.00 Free of charge

Otherwise:
Special price of EUR 15 per hour (4 persons, including balls and rackets) during
tournament.
