“
I was a straight A1 gradute in Bachelor of Law
from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in
the UK. After my studies overseas, I passed the
Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) exam with
flying colors and was one of the TOP 8
Students in Malaysia. Consequently, I got into
one of the top law firms in Malaysia and
practiced law for 5 years. My future in the legal
arena was extremely bright.
However, 5 years in the legal industry literally
drained me dry. My social circle was small
during that time and my life revolved around
work, work and work. I used to think a lawyer’s
life was glamorous, like what was portrayed in
TV dramas. How wrong I was! My work was
stressful, but the rewards did not measure up
to the effort I put in. I was envious of my peers
in financial consulting and those who ran their
own business. They were financially
independent and wealthy enough to buy
houses in Singapore. Looking at them, I felt
small and began to lose interest in my work.
Soon, I lost my passion for career life.
Why I choose BE
BE revived me. I came alive again after joining BE.
My passion for life and work returned as soon as I
saw people’s lives being changed and my efforts
rewarded handsomely. That drove me to strive in
BE even harder. When I was in a law firm, I dragged
my feet and forced myself to work every day. There

table. The working hours were long, and I often had

“ After graduating from Curtin University in
Perth, Australia, I came back to Malaysia and
worked for six years in a cubicle until I’ve had
enough. I left my comfort zone, flew to Taiwan
for a makeup course and returned to start my
dream business – running my beauty salon
and bridal shop. The testimonials of my talent
and skill for makeup spread quickly and my
reputation grew. Brides-to-be from near and
far sought for my makeup services for their big
day. Making brides beautiful is one of my
proudest achievements.
Within 7 years, my beauty and bridal business
boomed, thanks to the word-of-mouth
advertising from many satisfied customers.
My business expanded and I began to face
many challenges. The pressure of running a
physical store, operating cost, inventory,
stocks, time management and tedious
travelling began to overwhelm me and
eventually suffocated me. Gradually, I lost my
pride and joy in running my own business. I
became numb to my work, and there was no
more excitement in seeing blushing brides
beaming with radiance.

I realised that no matter how good my work
(makeup skill) was, I would always be alone. Also, I
was essentially running a business livelihood of

manage inventory and my operating cost is

duplicate it. Believe me, I merely took the simple
action of duplicating the system and I witnessed

I graduated from Taylor’s University and
University of South Australia. Although I
was an average student, I had big
dreams. Upon graduation, I clinched a
fulltime job in a multi-national company,
to the envy of many. Initially, I was
beaming proud to work for an MNC but
after working for some time, I began to
lose interest with it. Working in an MNC
wasn’t as glamorous as I thought, and I
began to feel useless and helpless when
I saw that my future wasn’t as bright as I
had expected. I soon became
disillusioned.
My parents taught me that if I worked
hard and persevered, I could determine
my future. Yes, I was working hard but I
just couldn’t see any future in a routine
9-to-5 career for the rest of my life.
No, that wasn’t the future I wanted. So I
began to seek opportunities for a
fulfilling and rewarding future. I told
myself I would keep seeking and learning
because I deserved a better future.

When I was introduced to an opportunity at BE, I
studied the company’s marketing plan and I knew

Get rid of your direct selling stereotype!
I used to be a homemaker and mother to a lovely 4-year-old daughter. To ease my family’s financial
burdens, I started a tailor-made silver jewellery online business and earned some side income in my
spare time. However, like any other business, it’s not that simple. Business owners face lots of daily
problems and challenges. Sometimes, I was overwhelmed by the challenges and felt so alone.
Why I choose BE
BE is vastly different from any business. Every part of BE makes me feel fulfilled. I feel BE is a journey
of building a sustainable income together with a team. This team shares a goal of improving one

S tart young, start now!
I was in my teen and a university student when I was
first introduced to the idea of multi-level marketing
(MLM) or direct selling. It was my mentors, RCCA
Chong Chee Ann and Tan Lee Eng who greatly
inspired me to start my entrepreneurial journey.
Why I choose BE
I’ve been involved in MLM for over 11 years, and have
never met a company much like BE International. The
company provides not only a business platform but

I was involved in real estate business for 4 years
before joining the airline industry in Brunei. After
I had my first child, I took a long break to raise
my children. Being a strong willed and
independent woman, I couldn’t just sit at home
to raise the kids. So, I ran small home
businesses to contribute the family income.
Several years ago, we moved to Singapore and I
retook my real estate license with the intention
of going back to the business. Then I got
introduced to BE and was so fascinated that I
ditched my real estate plan and changed my
career.
Why I choose BE
For many years, I had been looking for a scalable

Youth is your capital!
After graduating, I wasted no time and started my career as an
auditor in an accounting firm for one year. Although it was
short lived, I learned from that experience that I wanted
something better, something flexible, meaningful and more
than just a 9-5 job. I wanted a career that could provide the
financial means and freedom for me to achieve what I truly
desire. I tried sales and marketing in an IT company, but that
did not work for me either. That’s my last job as an employee
and I thus began my MLM journey.
Why I Choose BE
I came from an ordinary family, where life is surreal and
challenging. As I saw how my parents worked hard to raise the
family, I felt greatly indebted to them and I promised to myself
that I would do my best to provide them a comfortable life.
I had always known the truth – that if you are an employee, you
are building someone else’s dream and not your own. I wanted
to build my own dream and I found the right opportunity – in
BE International.
I initially joined BE because of my mentors, RCCA Lai Kee Vui
and Lee Wan Sian, whom I had known for over 14 years.

Empower yourself!
After graduating from UTM in computer science, I worked
in a multi-national company for 8 years. After my first
child came along, I continued working for a while but I had
to quit my highly demanding and stressful job to focus on
my family. As a mother, I felt bad for not being there for my
kids when they needed me, especially when they were
sick.
Why I choose BE
During my 10 years as a full-time homemaker, I attempted
to try a few online and MLM businesses. However, the
results were disappointing. Then, BE came along and
everything changed. BE gave me a career where I am the
boss of my time, and I can focus on work and kids at
simultaneously.
I’m ever grateful to my friend Siti Suzilah, who was willing
and brave enough to share Aulora Pants with me. Because

Don’t over think, just act!
In the past 9 years, I worked in an audit firm to a bridal
shop for 2 years before I settled down as a homemaker
and mother to 3 beautiful children for 7 years. My
husband, who worked in the oil and gas industry, was
capable to provide us a comfortable life. But it’s never
easy to manage a growing family. We bought our very own
house and cars. However, as the kids are growing up, the
expenses increased; therefore we needed additional
income too. I wanted to help out, and that’s where I began
to use my innovation to start a small business, selling nasi
lemak and pisang goreng but with the bare minimum
income earned. Not giving up, I switched to online
business, tried it but only to fail miserably.
Why I choose BE
When I first joined BE, I was just hoping to earn a few
hundred ringgit to cover my insurance premiums and
telephone bills. But when I received my first BE pay check,
I was awestruck! The business was incredibly profitable,
simple and feasible to do. All I did was share about the

At my first Bahasa Melayu Brand Ambassador Seminar, I

There’s a saying – “life needs a sense of ceremony”. It (Beautypreneur)
simply means that we need ceremonies or celebrations to
break the monotony of life. Otherwise, life will be dull and
dreary, devoid of dreams and aspirations.
RCCA Hibbie Tan’s life is a testament to this saying. “Life is
a gift, so we must treasure this precious gift by living it
well. When you live life, it shows you respect life, and you
will strive to be better, working to improve and upgrade
yourself,” she said.
An opportunity seeker
Hibbie considers herself an artistic person and has an eye
for pretty, stylish things. She enjoys the fine things of life,
and loves travelling and experiencing new sights and
sounds. Unfortunately, her career choices could not
support the standard of life she wanted.
For 12 years, she kept challenging herself to advance,
often changing jobs to pick up new skills and gain new
experiences. “It’s because I believed that one day, all the
skills I had acquired would become useful when the right
opportunity came.”When the opportunity to co-own a manicure salon arose, Hibbie thought
that was her big break but being a boss was nothing like she thought.
Next, she became an influencer, with over 40,000 Instagram followers.
“But frankly, unless you are a very popular influencer and the products
you share are a big hit, your income isn’t huge,” she revealed.
Finally, the opportunity came
When she was introduced to BE, she knew this was it. “This is a business
that is everything I’ve been dreaming of. I get to travel, see and
experience new things. I also get to give my mother a comfortable life.
Everything is ready for me and I just have to do one thing – duplicate. It’s

Being new to the MLM industry, Hibbie can’t express exactly how she
feels about doing the BE business. “You have to be in the business to

She can still recall the joy she felt when her friend’s father, who had not
been able to walk without aid, regained his mobility after wearing the

Even before BE, RCCA Annie was already a successful
businesswoman. She owned 9 mobile phone outlets that carried
international brands, such as Huawei. It was a sweet success for
her 18 years of labour in the mobile phone business. So, why
bother to get into the MLM business? And why choose BE out of so
many other MLM companies? Annie candidly shares her story.
BE began as a pastime
Annie was born to be a workhorse. Since her school days, she had
worked and juggled jobs. When she finished school and started
working full-time, she had two jobs. When she began her mobile
phone business, she also did another part-time job.
“What can I say? It’s how I was raised. It’s in my blood,” she
laughed. “I like to keep myself occupied. I enjoy working and
harvesting the fruits of my hard work.”
So, when she was introduced to BE, she naturally took up the
business on a part-time basis, never thinking that it was going to
be a full-time pursuit.
“Initially, I did BE part-time because I wanted something to take
my mind off my hectic handphone business. I slowly began to
notice that everyone in BE seemed to enjoy doing the business.
These BEians were fun, happy and vibrant. I was intrigued.”From pastime to passion
As Annie got more involved in the BE business, she discovered
the world of difference between BE and traditional business.
“Yes, my handphone business was lucrative, but it wasn’t easy.
Sales, inventories, dead stocks, rentals, salaries – these were my
biggest headaches. Running the BE business, however, is
stress-free. All I need is share and meet as many people as
possible,” she explained.
“In my many jobs, I’ve never experienced as much satisfaction as
I’ve experienced in BE. Seeing lives transformed, being
appreciated, and being able to work as a family in BE are pure
joys,” Annie said, “and I’m making the same income as I did from
my handphone business! Better still, I don’t have to worry about
anything!”
And she would have been worried sick if she only had her
handphone business during the MCO.
“During the MCO, my BE business continued as usual. From
logistics to online meetings, activities and seminars, the
company ensured everything went smoothly for us. Many
businesses were badly hit during the MCO. In contrast, BE Hong
Kong branch took off as scheduled in May!”
“I want to be remembered”
Annie recalled the time when she was a handphone
promoter (before she started her handphone business).
Her mother was worried about her irregular income and
said people wouldn’t buy handphones every day. “But
people will want health, beauty, quality life and time and
financial freedom all the time,” she said.
“So, I want to help them achieve these. I want to be
remembered as Annie Lau, the one who inspired people

RCCA Calvin Wong is a born storyteller. A conversation
with him will be sure to leave you refreshed, for he has
a way of uplifting people with his positivity and energy.
A sceptic turned believer
Calvin started working when he was 18. For over 20
years, he worked at a timber company and saw it grow
from a few workers to over 15,000 workers, from a
small company to a listed company. “By the time I was
45 years old, I was already half-retired,” he shared.
With an illustrious career profile spanning 25 years,
Calvin was never short of business opportunities
thrown at his feet. However, none of the business
opportunities that came his way piqued his interest.
His foray into MLM was, therefore, a huge surprise to
many. It all began when his wife, Hieh Siong, was
introduced to Aulora Pants to alleviate her varicose

Pants claimed to do, he blurted out: “Are you kidding
me? How can a pair of pants help?”But the pants spoke for themselves. As his wife’s varicose vein
condition improved and she lost some inches too, Calvin started
telling friends about them and was surprised by the response. “They
were all interested and began to order the pants from me! They didn’t
even ask how much the pants cost!”
Still, Calvin dismissed the idea of doing the business. And then he
met BE founder Lee Suet Sen.
During the one-hour meeting with Mr Lee, Calvin became convinced
that this was the business he had been seeking. The deciding factors
that prompted his decision to join BE were the company’s
background, its founder and its founder’s vision.
“I was already impressed that Mr Lee wanted to
meet me. After all, I was just an ordinary
member,” he said.
Be someone’s mentor
Many people associate direct selling with ‘sales’. “No, at BE, we begin as
users. When you benefit from the products, you’ll naturally want to tell
people about them. At BE, we don’t teach people to sell. We encourage
them to share,” Calvin pointed out.
With his abundant life and career experiences, Calvin knows that life isn’t
about how much money one makes, but how many people one helps.
“When your goal is making more money, you’ll find that hard to achieve.
Human beings have two legs, but a dollar note has four (in Chinese, the
words “corners” and “legs” are homonyms). That’s why you can never
outrun money. But when you share with a sincere heart, you’ll attract
wealth. Isn’t that easier?”
Calvin said many people remain where they out of fear – fear of leaving
their comfort zone, fear that it’s too late to change, and fear that it’s too
late to jump on to the bandwagon.
“The opportunity is always now. Stop telling yourself ‘later’. When ‘later’
comes, you’ll regret when it becomes ‘too late’,” he concluded.BE Insight
