monuments, memorials and statues, is an attraction in its own. From the Union building
meander the streets of Arcadia heading to the city centre to visit the Kruger house Museum.
This modest Edwardian style home was occupied by Paul Kruger from 1894 to 1900; it contains
interesting souvenirs of Oom Paul's life, the founder of the Afrikaans Nation. Complete the tour
with a drive through Church Square to Voortrekker hoogte, the hill on which the Voortrekker
Monument is built. The Monument, rising like a sentinel in the south of Pretoria is an essential
piece of the puzzle in understanding the Afrikaner people. The friezes explain their entire
history from the Great Trek up to the Battle of Blood River and the forming of the Boer
Republics.

DAY 2 Kruger

Breakfast 06:00
- Kruger Park 4x4 Game Drive (Full day). The scheduled departure leaves from Hazyview very
early in the morning. On board an open 4x4 Safari vehicle take a short drive to one of the
park's gates and into the Kruger National Park. In 1898, at the request of President Paul Kruger
and, initially to control hunting and protect the diminished number of game in the Eastern
Transvaal region, the Sabie Game Reserve was created. The park, as known today, was formed
in 1926, by gathering several smaller reserves into the first national park of South-Africa which
was given the name of Paul Kruger, opened to the public the same year. Kruger National Park is
one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of 18,989 square kilometres and
extends 350 kilometres from North to South and 60 kilometres from East to West. The five
largest animals, gathered under the words "Big Five"(lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros and
buffalo) are plenty and 147 species of mammals roam freely. 517 species of birds can be seen,
253 of them being resident. The morning safari ends in one of the rest-camps inside the park,
were you will be able to stretch, refresh and have lunch (at own expense), before setting off to
explore more of the Park. To spot an animal in the Kruger Park needs to be deserved and luck
is needed. That being said, the safari is only more thrilling. The 4x4 vehicle will allow you a
direct contact with

the bush, and who knows, with the help of your experienced ranger, you might get to see one
of 1000 leopards of this huge reserve, before heading back to Hazyview in the late afternoon.

biggest show cave system in Africa and the oldest tourist attraction in the country. There are
three main caves, connected by a series of chambers and tunnels and here you will find a
collection of the oldest stalagmite formations on the planet, some dating back as far as 4 500
million years ago. Only the first cave is open to visitors; the other two are kept closed to

chamber you will feel the warm humid air and be amazed at its enormity. Van Zyl's Hall is 98m

possible; however, the Cango Wildlife Ranch's Natural Encounter Programme makes it a reality.

presented with a photo folder of your personal wildlife experience when you leave. The ranch is
the oldest and largest cheetah contact centre in the world and a visit to Cheetahland will bring
you face-to-face with their hand-reared cats. You may also get actively involved in saving the
species from extinction as today there are just 7 500 cheetahs left in the world and South Africa
is home to fewer than 1 000 of these majestic animals. During your encounter you will have the
opportunity of interacting with a variety of ambassador animals and stroke a cheetah or
perhaps even cuddle a Bengal tiger cub, if there are cubs available. Don't miss out on this
wonderful occasion to literally rub shoulders with these magnificent, endangered beasts.
