BIKE & BOAT Istria · Croatia Route from Pula / to Pula Duration 8 days / 7 nights Distance approx. 247 km Level 1 - 2 The largest peninsula in Croatia – a cultural treasure trove „The heart of Europe" is what the Istrians call their peninsula. This is where Central Europe and the world of Mediterranean meet. On this one-week tour, we explore the most popular part of the Croatian coast. Fall in love with the Adriatic Sea on this bike [&] boat tour in Istria. Relax on a romantic motor sailor - your floating home. Get on your bicycle after an invigorating breakfast, enjoy your lunch break ashore or meet your ship in one of the pretty harbours for a cruise. Enjoy the outstanding cuisine aboard, watch the sunset or stroll through the historical harbour towns before going to sleep under the stars… either on deck or in your cabin.
Itinerary 1st Day Pula (Embarkation) – Pula (Round trip) (approx. 10.5 mi/17 km) Individual arrival to Pula. The secret capital of Istria. A town full of impressive remains of its Roman past. If you arrive by car, we can arrange a secure parking place for you. check-in on the motor yacht takes place around 2 pm/2:30 pm. The first cycle tour starts at 3 pm and takes us on a small round tour of Pula and back to the ship. You might get the chance to have a closer look at the famous Amphitheatre. Once back at the boat we set off on our first cruise just a couple of miles north to a bay for the night. 2nd Day Vrsar - Poreč(approx. 22 mi/35 km) In the early morning (before breakfast), we go on a very scenic, approx. 3 h cruise to Vrsar. The town where the lady killer Casanova found temporary refuge from pursuing lovers. Starting from Vrsar, we cycle along the Limski canal to Kloštar in the hinterland. A lunch break gives us the opportunity to taste the local cuisine before continuing on our bikes to Poreč. On a guided walk through the town, we learn of the town's eventful past. The famous Euphrasian Basilica, with its gorgeous early Christian mosaics is just one of the many highlights, which the town has to offer. 3rd Day Poreč – Višnjan – Umag (approx. 31 mi/50 km) Today's cycle tour takes us from Poreč along vast vineyards to Visnjan. Home of the famous white Boškarin Cattle. After a coffee break, we continue cycling through the gentle hills of the hinterland to Vizinada. After a replenishing lunch break, we cycle back to Poreč with a small detour to the Baredine Cave. A walk through the cave takes us through five amazing halls, which are beautifully illuminated. It leads us 60 m under ground to a subsurface lake and if we are lucky, we will encounter the famous amphibian (Proteus anguinus): the olm, endemic to this area. Back at the ship, we hop on our boat and enjoy a lovely cruise to Umag. 4th Day Umag – Grožnjan – Novigrad (approx. 34 mi/55 km) After breakfast, we start by cycling to the north along the coast. After a climb, we reach the artist’s village of Grožnjan. Strengthened by a long relaxing stop we continue cycling to Novigrad, along the Mirna River Valley. The Mirna River Valley is well known as an area where white truffles can be found. Novigrad greets us with its impressive city walls as well the 7th century Pelagius Basilica. The quaint harbour hosts a number of cafes and bars, where we can enjoy a relaxing evening. Dinner is served on board. 5th Day Novigrad – Poreč - Rovinj (approx. 22 mi/35 km) After breakfast, we leave Novigrad and cycle along the coast all the way to Poreč. There is time to take a stroll through the beautiful old town and to enjoy some regional cuisine for lunch. The boat awaits us in the harbour of Poreč where we board and cruise to Rovinj. The night is spent in Rovinj. 6th Day Rovinj (approx. 12.5 mi/20 km) From Rovinj we start today’s cycle tour, which allows plenty of time for a refreshing bath in the Adriatic Sea. There is also time in the afternoon to stroll through the winding alleyways of this picture perfect town. It will leave you enchanted. The night is spent in Rovinj.
7th Day Rovinj – Barbariga - Vodnjan - Pula(approx. 22 mi/35 km) A longer crossing by boat takes us to Barbariga. Once ashore we have some lunch and hop on our bicycles. Our cycle tour leads us via Vodnjan back to Pula. There is enough time to take a walk through the town and to visit the many heritage sites, which the city has to offer. A celebrative evening meal with guests, guides and crew ends the week on a high note. 8th Day Pula (Disembarkation) After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am followed by an individual trip home or an extended stay in Croatia.

The various decks provide a generous amount of space for the guests to relax on board. The sundeck is fitted with comfortable sunning mats so that the panoramic view from the top of the boat can be enjoyed to the fullest. Good weather offers the opportunity to set the outside table for meal times. The crew on board have worked together for many years and are a well-practiced team. Their smiles and helpful attitudes characterize the atmosphere on board.

Arrival Port of Embarkation Pula The Bike [&] Boat Istria tour starts and ends in Pula. Please keep in mind, that the embarkation takes place around 2 pm/2.30 pm. Your first bicycle tour starts shortly after check-in. Embarkation, will take place between 2:00 and 2:30 pm. The first bicycle tour starts at 3 pm and your ship leaves the harbour at about 6 pm. Please get in contact with our office, if you are going to book a flight that arrives Pula airport after 2 pm. Contact us Arrival by car Address for Navigation System: Riva 1, 52100, Pula, Kroatien We are happy to organise a secure parking place for your vehicle on private property in Pula. This must be arranged in advanced. Prices can be found under “additional bookable services”. If you have booked a parking place, please inform one of the Islandhopping tour guides on arrival. They will show you the parking place after unloading your car. Arrival by plane The closest airport to your embarkation/disembarkation harbour is Pula Airport (PUY). Please keep in mind that your first bicycle tour starts at 3 pm and your ship leaves the harbour at about 6 pm. Please get in contact with our office, if you are going to book a flight that arrives Pula airport after 2 pm. If you cannot get a flight to Pula (PUY) search for a flight to Zagreb (ZAG). Distance to the harbour of Pula from Zagreb airport: 3.5 hrs by car. Transfer Options Pula - Port of Embarkation The distance from Pula Airport to the harbour of Pula is aprx. 10 minutes by car.
