Explore the Burren
The Burren has so much to offer for all. Enjoy the beautiful views while doing the Burren
Walks. You can see magnificent sightings of the famous Poulnabrone dolmen. As well as a
walking tour, Hotel Woodstock offer a 10% discount on the helicopter tour available for all
our guests to avail of at the Burren.
The Michael Cusack Visitor Burren Centre is a great place to be involved in a cultural,
historical and educational tour. The Burren Visitors Centre has many facilities like gift shops,
cafes, restaurants and picnic areas for a day full of fun.
Caherconnell Stone Court
Caherconnell Stone Court is a kilometre away from the Poulnabrone dolmen is the gateway
to the forts and tombs of the Burren. It also holds Sheepdog Demonstrations which shows off
the impressive collies rounding up sheep and it is very impressive to watch.
Cliffs of Moher
Cliffs of Moher is Clare’s most popular tourist attraction to visit. The Cliffs of Moher visiting
centre is located on the Wild Atlantic Way and has the most the most beautiful views that it’s
no surprise that it attracts so many people to the landmark. While at the Cliffs of Moher, you
can organise a coastal walks that guide you along the cliffs while coming across facilities at
the cliffs like the Visitor Centre and O’ Brien’s Tower.

Kilrush Aqua Park
Aqua Park is located 46 kilometres from Hotel Woodstock at the Kilrush Marina in County
Clare. The course runs for an hour and wet suits are provided. Pre-booking is essential! It’s a
for sure way to keep everyone entertained and a fun active day for some family bonding.
Kilkee Cliff Walk:
Raw natural beauty can be seen at the Kilkee Cliff walk for everyone to enjoy. On the Cliff
Walk, there are stunning views to behold, haunting ocean sounds to be heard and the wind

The Alpaca Experience is offered in Kilkee, Co. Clare. The Flying Alpaca is a family-run
farm with alpacas, horses and chickens. They’re the only alpaca farm in Loop Head offering

Loophead Lighthouse
Loop Head is situated 84 kilometres away from the hotel and epitomises what the Wild
Atlantic Way is about: panoramic cliff views and plenty of quiet beauty spots where you can
pause and wonder at this unforgettable part of the world.
A trip to Loop Head Lighthouse is a visit of contrasts, centered around this beacon of hope
that has perched majestically on the scenic headland of Loop Head for hundreds of years,
looking down on the Atlantic, 90 meters below.
Bridges of Ross
The Bridges of Ross were a trio of spectacular natural sea arches – at least until two of them
fell into the sea. Today, even though only one ‘bridge’ remains, the name persists in the
plural.
Just ten minute drive away from the Loophead Lighthouse, the area is regarded as one of the
best sea watching sites in Europe. In late summer and autumn, it becomes a birder’s paradise
as thousands of rare seabirds pass close to shore on their southbound migration.

of yesteryear lived.As you wander through the vaulted halls of Knappogue, you will learn about the families who
dwelled here including the Scots and the Butlers each making their own valuable
contribution.
In the magical setting of Knappogue Castle, the walled garden is a romantic oasis to sit and
muse or just escape the ‘madding crowd’. The tall and imposing walls of the walled garden,
are lovingly refurnished with climbing roses, grapevines and many clematis varieties.
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is one of Ireland’s most historic castles on the west of Ireland.
This is your chance to experience a window on Ireland’s past and explore the acclaimed 15th
century Bunratty Castle and the 19th century Bunratty Folk Park, less than 28 kilometres
from Hotel Woodstock.
The Castle was resotres in 1954 to its former medieval splendour. At evening time, Medieval
Banquets are held in the castle and open to the public to enjoy. As well as this, you can enjoy
the sights, sounds, tastes and scents as you stroll from house to house around Bunratty Folk
Park Village. It is truly an experience you don’t want to miss out on!
Craggaunowen Pre-Historic Park
Take a trip to the past when visiting the life of the hunter-gatherer in the ring fort at
Craggaunowen Pre-Historic Park.
Explore Craggaunowen Castle the 16th century restored Medieval Castle built in 1550
standing defiantly on a crag overlooking the lake and enjoy magnificient views of the
countryside. Observe rare and really interesting animal breeds such as wild boar and soay
sheep – specimens of the pre-historic era.
Visit one of Ireland’s earliest roadways or ‘togher’ dating to 148 BC. Exploring the
Souterrain is fun – designed to store food but these were often a welcome escape route when
under attack from the enemy! Good place for hide and seek! Enjoy the fresh air and lake

12 O’ Clock hills
The Hill Knockanuarha is located 5km southeast of Kilkishen Village in East Clare. The
main summit is marked by the Ordnance Survey Trig Point or Triangulation Pillar. It is a
great fun active activity to do with the family.
The 12 O’ Clock Hills Walk are a range of walks that are suitable for people with different
fitness levels and interests. Everyone is able to access the forestry and paths have been
developed under the trees and by the streams to add to the charm of the area and provide
access to heritage areas.Mountain View Horse-riding Centre
Mountain View Horse Riding Centre offers families who have all different levels experience
to join them in many different treks across the beautiful countryside. They are just located 10

Dysert O’ Dea Castle
Why not take a trip to Dysert O Dea castle and experience the rich history of the area. The
Castle was built in 1480 by Diarmuid O’ Dea, Lord of Cineal Fearmaic. It was repaired and
opened in 1986 and is an extensive museum with an audio-visual presentation and various
exhibitions. As well as this, there are 25 other monuments on site which you can explore at
your own leisure by taking one of the two walking trails.
Scattery Island
Scattery Island is an isle just off Kilrush, Co. Clare and is truly unique tourist experience on
Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. There is loads to see with several historical sites and unspoilt
natural beauty that lies in peace and tranquillity. Take a guided walking tour yourself, to
experience the islands inhabitability and rich history.

Gaelic is situated 7 kilometres from the Hotel in Clarecastle, and provides an active and
passive introductory courses to Gaelic Games by both audio, visual and practical coaching

Nevsails Watersports and Rock Climbing Centre Kilkee
Nevsail Watersports has been operating since 2004 in Kilkee and provides lessons and fun for
all sorts of water activities, rock climbing and even archery. Nevsail Watersports is situated at
the beach front by the Life Guard and accommodates everyone from beginners to advanced!
What a fun way to have a fun day with the family!Moher Hill Farm
Moher Hill Farm and Leisure Park is located on the Western Seaboard beside the famous
Cliffs of Moher. It is run by the Canavan family and stretches out over 14 acres of farm park
land. The farm was initially set up to teach and educate visitors about various different
animals, both traditional and exotic animals of different origins. Over the years they decided
to make it into a farm park that involves a mini-golf course, bouncing castle and both indoor
and outdoor play areas. It is the perfect way to spend a sunny day with family.
Deerpark Outdoor Paint Balling Centre
Clare Paintball is an outdoor/adventure centre located in Quin, Co. Clare. They provide
paintball, splatball and other airsoft activities. Located just 21 kilometres from Hotel
Woodstock, it would be the perfect way to spend the day bonding as a family.
Father Ted’s House
Father Ted was a popular sitcom focused on three priests living on a remote island off the
west of Ireland. Today, you can spend the afternoon visiting the famous Father Ted’s house
being only a quick 25 kilometre drive away from the hotel. A great way to see the house for
yourself and tour around the premises and see where all the magic happened!
Flaggy Shore Oysters
The Flaggy Shore Oysters are located in New Quay, Co. Clare and is family owned. You’ll
learn the local history, and be wowed by the science of how tides provide the ideal water for
oysters. Then, you’ll explore the aquarium that features some of the fascinating local sea
creatures.
Finally, master the art of oyster shucking and gather round communal rustic tables to eat your
fill of Flaggy Shore oysters along with a suitably paired glass of wine.
Surfing
Why not take a trip to Lahinch and have some fun with the waves? Lahinch Surf School
offers a fun experience to learn how to surf and have a lot of fun while doing it. With their
instructors being fully qualified, you are sure to be safe in the water!
