Happy 2021 to you and your family, and I hope you all had a safe and joyous holiday season! On behalf of our team at The River Club,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your generous contributions towards our 2020 Employee Holiday Fund. We thank you
for your support, patronage, and confidence in us to meet and exceed your expectations upon each visit to the Club, especially during
these unique times. We have an exciting lineup of events to kick off the year, and I encourage you to review the 2021 events page and

fellow members while discussing a broad range of
literature. This month, the group will be discussing
Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner. Called a
“magnificently crafted story . . . brimming with wisdom”
by Howard Frank Mosher in The Washington Post Book
World, Crossing to Safety has, since its publication in
1987, established itself as one of the greatest and most
cherished American novels of the twentieth century.
Tracing the lives, loves, and aspirations of two couples
who move between Vermont and Wisconsin, it is a
work of quiet majesty, deep compassion, and powerful
insight into the alchemy of friendship and marriage.
