This is a unique experience for those who want to travel with other like
minded women and get involved volunteering in a village school where
the children are the first generation in their families to go to school, also
in a Home for Destitute and Orphaned Boys, in a street children project
or volunteer with an animal charity that takes care of the wild cows,
donkeys and dogs that need urgent veterinary help including operations.

The volunteers stay with a Social Enterprise at their Volunteer House and
lessons/activities are planned daily using materials from the resources
area at the Volunteer House and the volunteers go in to the projects
daily Monday to Friday in the morning to either teach basic English,
maths and art & craft or they may prefer to work at the animal charity

caring for the cows, donkeys and dogs. Those that opt for the teaching
in the afternoons visit a boys home, street children project, school for
disabled children and prepare stimulating after school activities which
can include dancing, sport, games, painting…

Itinerary:

Friday 19th February      - Depart UK or other country on
evening/night flight.

Saturday 20th February - Arrive in Delhi or Mumbai,
India. Connecting flight to Udaipur. Transfer to Volunteer
House. Welcome meal on arrival.

Sunday 21st February - Orientation. Quick tour of
Udaipur to see the Market Area so you can return another
day to explore on your own or shop.

Monday 22nd February/Thursday 25th February- Either teaching in
village primary school in morning and school for disabled children some
afternoons and visits to the boys home or volunteer at animal charity all
day.

Friday 26th February, Saturday 27th February and Sunday 28th
February- Weekend trip to Jodphur by private car. Evening meal at the
famous “On the Rocks” restaurant. Visit the Fort next morning and then
on to the Osian Desert to stay with a desert family and sleep under the
stars! Dune safari by 4x4 to watch the sun set behind the dunes, then
the evening meal around the fire! Camel ride at dawn to watch the sun
rise! Return to Udaipur Sunday afternoon.

Monday 1st March/Friday 5th March - Repeat of first week - teaching
in school, street children project and boys home or working with the
animals at the animal charity.

Friday 5th March. After dinner, depart Udaipur on overnight train to
Agra.

Saturday 6th March - Arrive Agra, book into hotel, have light lunch
and visit the Fort and Baby Taj or Black Taj if time. Meal out in Agra and
overnight in hotel.

Sunday 7th March - 7am sun rise visit to the Taj Mahal with guide!
Breakfast after, check out of hotel and private car to Delhi. Check in to
airport hotel in Delhi. Overnight in airport hotel.

Monday 8th March. Return from Delhi to the UK

What’s included in the price:

- Transfers between Udaipur airport to the Volunteer House
- Accommodation at the Volunteer House in shared single sex rooms
    with modern bathrooms with showers and western toilets.
-   Three home cooked vegetarian meals daily when at the Volunteer
    House
-   Orientation on arrival including insight into India, local community and
    also Hindi language
-   Access to Teaching Resources area and photocopier at the Volunteer
    House in order to prepare lessons/activities. Help planning lessons.
    Free wifi at Volunteer House.
-   Transport by Social Enterprise to village school, animal charity, street
    children project and boys home.
-   Lots of extras - quick show around Udaipur city including the Market,
    Bollywood videos for the evenings…
-   Private car excursion to Jodhpur, including one night in hotel in
    Jodhpur and one night in the desert sleeping under the stars (or in
    hut) with camel ride at dawn! 4x4 jeep safari on the dunes.
-   Overnight train excursion to Agra, one night in an hotel, guide
    around Taj Mahal.
-   Private car to Delhi.       Overnight in airport hotel before
    departure next day. Shuttle from hotel to airport

What’s not included:

-   flights to India and internal one-way/return flight to Udaipur
-   travel insurance (essential and a condition of booking)
-   Indian visa
-   vaccinations (Rabies recommended)

- spending money for meals out, on weekend excursions entrances to
  Forts, Palaces, Temples, puppetry show, shopping and entrance to the
  Taj Mahal

Some extra workshops you can do whilst there:

- Yoga if enough people would like to do - 5 times a week either early
morning or evening
