PARKING /
                                 ROAD CLOSURES
We’ll propose an improved plan for road closures and parking restrictions, based on what
we learned from 2018.

 Main Aims:

Use of Road Closure signage, resident access permits scheme and stewards to deter
non-resident vehicles parking in streets around the event

Time-limited road closure on Gunnersbury Lane (North & South from to North
Circular to Bollo Road) to allow for safe egress.

 Key changes:

Gunnersbury Drive added to the road closure/ resident access scheme

Resident Access Permits distributed earlier - by 5th July 2019

Link on community website (from May) to request additional permits

Stewarding improved - earlier start to stewarding operation, more back-ups, more
robust stewards in key areas and better supervision and communication

Traffic plans published on community website

Community Benefit
In future, I am keen for the funding available to be distributed
differently:
• The organisation or group receiving the funding should be based within Hounslow and/or Ealing
• Residents should be able to have a say in the selection process – either by a public ballot or
  representative panel
• Outcomes and impact need to be measured and information shared
• Processes should be transparent
• Opportunities for volunteering or working at the festival will be made
  available online
• Within the festival PXSSY PALACE is funded to provide a safe space for
women and LGBTQ festival goers including workshops.
