ABOUT ACP Founded in 2008, ACP is a national nonprofit assisting post-9/11 veterans in their transition from the military to the civilian workforce. Program Eligibility Requirements ACP welcomes applications from service members, veterans and spouses who meet the following eligibility criteria: • Active duty service members (including members of the Reserve and National Guard). • Veterans of the armed forces that have served at least 180 days on active duty orders since September 11, 2001. • Surviving spouses and spouses of severely wounded post-9/11 veterans. • Service members who served less than 180 days of active duty since 9/11, but who were injured while serving or training • The spouses of active duty service members 5

NJROTC: What is it? • A SUPERB opportunity for those wanting to have an impact AND able to relate to HS students GRADUATE HAVE A PLAN IN ALL YOU DO (*Retire*) DO IT TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITIES
NJROTC: What is it? • Citizenship Development Program • Improve graduation rate • Not a recruiting service but advantages/opportunities to students who serve • Advance pay grade for those that Enlist • Service Academy nomination ability and ROTC scholarships for those choosing college • Navy Provides to School Districts • Half of instructor minimum pay • Student uniforms, Curriculum, Equipment, etc • Federal funding and inventory accountability • Uniform and grooming standards required
NJROTC: What is it? cont. • It is a school course (usually an elective class) that has Navy provided curriculum for each of 4 years • Naval Science (NS1)-Introduction to Navy • NS2-Maritime History • NS3-Naval Knowledge and Skills • NS4-Leadership • Competition Team Opportunities (local, region and national events) • Drill (Color Guard, Armed and Unarmed IDR and Exhibition • Athletics/Academics included • Air Rifle • Academics • Orienteering • Community service and engagement • Uniform and grooming standards required • (minimum 1x weekly) • There are guidelines but: • MAKE THE PROGRAM WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE!!
