COMMITTEE MEMBERS - DEMENTIA FRIENDLY ILKLEY
The Ilkley group for dementia awareness and support needs more committee members to help
spread the load and energise the work it does in the Ilkley area.
There is a monthly support meeting, and present members need extra hands to develop
initiatives to promote dementia awareness. The Ilkley group has a few dementia awareness
trainers who offer monthly sessions but the committee would like to do more publicity at events,
etc. The time commitment can be as short as one hour a month or as long as individuals wish.

VOLUNTEERS - UPCROFT ALPACAS, GUISELEY
Volunteers aged over 16 required. Must be fit as it can be quite heavy work. Must also be reliable
and willing to turn up in all weathers.
Main tasks: catching and putting head collars and lead ropes on alpacas, assisting with alpaca
walks with paying customers, training alpacas to negotiate obstacle course, filling water and hay
buckets, paddock cleaning. Can volunteer anything between 1 day and 8 days per month on a
regular basis.

DAN’S DEN, ILKLEY
Dan's Dan at Christchurch is a not-for-profit community soft play centre. We are only a success
because of our awesome volunteer squad which we are always looking to grow. As well as
regular customer facing volunteers we are looking for someone to support smaller sensory
activities over the summer period. If you have a creative flair or just enjoy a bit of crafty chaos
we'd be delighted to hear from you. In return, we offer a welcoming, friend environment, basic
training and opportunity to develop. We are happy to provide references to support employment,

VOLUNTEERS - LS29 TIME, ILKLEY AREA
LS29 Time Holiday Club provides fun times for young people with additional needs and respite
time for families in the Ilkley area of West Yorkshire.
We are delighted to welcome volunteers to LS29 Time from all walks of life. From professionals
with a background in special needs, to young people who are looking for work experience, we
have volunteer roles for all.

VOLUNTEER: HOME START CRAVEN
Could you spare 2 hours a week to support a local family? Home Start Craven supports families,
with at least one child under the age of five, to help get them back on their feet and/or through
difficult times. Typically, our volunteers may provide emotional support, such as a listening ear as
well as practical support such as helping to establish structure/routines as well as helping build

CLARKE FOLEY, ILKLEY
Find friendship and fulfilment at the Clarke Foley. We have many flexible volunteering roles
including working in the café, helping with Lunch Club, running classes and groups and guiding
visitors. The Centre has a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere which is a tribute to our volunteers.

HELPER VOLUNTEERS - MARIE CURIE HELPER SERVICE
The Helper Service is a great local service providing support to people living with a terminal
illness and their families and carers. We are looking for volunteers and are interested to hear
from people with the compassion and empathy to support individuals for a few hours per week.
We know that the little things can make a difference, like having someone to chat to over a cup of
tea, help get to an appointment, run an errand or just be a friendly ear. To find out more about

VOLUNTEER READING HELPER - BEANSTALK (KEIGHLEY AND SHIPLEY)
Beanstalk are a national charity who recruit, train and support volunteers to provide one-to-one
literacy support to primary school children. Our volunteers work in schools for 1-1/2 hours twice a
week (afternoons during term time) and we ask for a minimum one year commitment. We are
looking for volunteers for schools in Keighley and Shipley. If you are interested please visit

the shop floor. Every penny and every pound goes towards our life-saving work in the fight

We are looking for volunteers to provide a welcoming service and to offer help either by serving on the counter, clearing tables or filling the dishwasher. BUZZ CLUB
Volunteers required for Buzz Club, we provide friendship and fun activities on Saturday
afternoons between 2.30 and 5.00pm at Ilkley Baptist Church on Kings Road for adults with
learning disabilities. These include art and crafts, games, cooking and occasional outings. We
are looking for caring and fun loving individuals to join our team. Anyone interested please

ILKLEY COMMUNITY TRANSPORT
Would you like to help your local community and join the friendly team at Ilkley Community
Transport? We are a registered charity based in Ilkley and are always looking for CAR DRIVERS
to provide lifts primarily to medical appointments for residents in the Ilkley and Addingham area
who find public transport difficult to access due to age, illness or disability. Volunteers use their
own cars and claim expenses for fuel at a pre-agreed rate. Drivers must be over 21, and have
held a full licence for at least 2 years.
