The Club is one of 904 golf courses that are certified globally, and has held the designation since 2000. To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas including: Environmental Planning, Wildlife & Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Chemical Use Reduction and Safety, Water Conservation, and Water Quality Management. Recertification takes place every three years. As part of the process, a site visit was conducted by a representative of the National Parks Board, who noted that the Club implements many measures and actively works with governmental agencies to ensure that water quality is not compromised, and that sufficient green spaces to sustain wildlife is retained. This contributes to the creation of naturalised areas on the golf course, which provide valuable water, food and habitat for local and migratory wildlife in the area. Have you seen the various species of birds on our courses? The Club also engages in practices such as paying attention to weather patterns, targeted irrigation heads, and routine irrigation system maintenance to use water more efficiently.
