Have a Merry and Holy Christmas, and a Happy and Blessed New Year!
*NEW* Bishop LeGatt Video Message: Prepare Your Heart
In this final week of Advent, Archbishop LeGatt invites us to reflect on the
final preparations we will undertake to celebrate Christmas. Of course,
this year, Christmas will be quite different than normal. But it need not be
sadness or frustration that swells in our heart. Instead, let us allow this
very different Christmas to bring about a different, a new and joyous
reflection in our souls. We may not be preparing for the usual large
meals shared among extended family. But let us indeed prepare for a
moment, spent intimately, in the light of our Christ. In this week, take
some time to prepare your heart. Our Christmas preparations will be less
about busy shopping and cooking, this year. Let them be instead about
preparing our heart: the manger, the O antiphons, and other prayers, are
only a few ideas Archbishop Albert has for us as we prepare our hearts of the Incarnation of Jesus this Christmas. O Come O
Come Emmanuel!

Monthly Prayer Intentions of Pope Francis
Prayer Intention for January, 2021
Human Fraternity – May the Lord give us the grace to live in full fellowship with our brothers and sisters of other religions,
praying for one another, open to all.
Stewardship
*NEW* December 27, 2020 - The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
“…as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must forgive.” - Colossians 3:13
Forgiving is one of the hardest things for people to do. We can’t give what we don’t have. We need
to receive God’s mercy and forgiveness first before we can give it to others. Go to the sacrament of
Reconciliation and receive God’s mercy and forgiveness. Then, share give the gift of forgiveness
with someone – a family member, a friend or a co-worker. Pick up the phone or text someone right
now.
January 3, 2021 - Epiphany of the Lord
“..they fell down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold,
frankincense, and myrrh...” - Matthew 2:11
Notice the order of events in the Magi’s visit. First, they knelt before Jesus and prayed to Him. Then
they presented Him with their gifts. We, too, as Stewards, must take time to pray before we present
our gifts to the Lord. We never know what God may be asking us to share!

REPEATED ITEMS
Bishop LeGatt Video Message: A Father’s Heart
Whenever God called upon Joseph, he responded by filling the moment
with God’s love, by the unfolding of God’s plan. Pope Francis has called for
a year to St. Joseph. As Joseph was called by God to care for and protect
Mary and Jesus, Joseph always responded with trust, obedience, and with
action. Likewise, although the future is not clear in our current pandemic
situation, God speaks to us in many ways, calling us to love, to care, and
to hope. Let us also respond decisively by accepting God into our present,
allowing Him to flow in and through us, as Joseph did.

Christmas Message from Bishop Émilius Goulet, Archbishop emeritus of Saint-Boniface
We can’t wait to turn the page. We want to get back to our normal life. We want to rebalance our life… but in
what way? Bishop Goulet offers his reflections on celebrating Christ’s birth during the COVID-19 pandemic in
his Christmas message, which you can read by clicking here.
Your Advent Visiting Calendar!
Advent is the time for visiting. While pregnant with Jesus, Mary visits her cousin, Elizabeth,
mother of John the Baptist. And the Magi visit the new parents, Maryh and Joseph. This
Advent Season, consider sitting down on your own or with your family. Make a list as long as
you can of anyone who might appreciate a phone call, an email or a Christmas letter. We all
know someone special in a care home, someone in the hospital or a family member or friend
we haven’t contacted in a long time. List those people, put them on a weekly rotation, and
call them, write them, Zoom them, one by one. Drop cookies off at their door! Have fun with
it! And Merry Christmas!
Advent and Christmas Time Activities
Are you looking for activities to do from home this Advent and Christmas season? Visit our webpage for

Ways We Can Help this Christmas
Christmas is an important time of giving in normal times. Our accustomed ways of giving are not so
easily available this year due to pandemic, while the pandemic has greatly increased the need.
Deacon Doug Cross has prepared a document with suggestions for ways we can help during the
pandemic. Please consider being particularly generous. To read the document, click here!
