New Zealand, the “Land Down Under” aboard Air New
Zealand Flight 1 departing LAX at 9:15 p.m.
Sat. Nov 27: Day lost crossing the International Date Line.
Day regained on the return journey
Sun. Nov 28: Arrive Auckland 7:15 a.m., New Zealand’s
largest city. Dubbed the ‘City of Sails.’ Auckland’s citizens
are addicted to the water and boat everywhere, to work and
recreation within Auckland’s vast harbor complex. Early
check-in the Sofitel Viaduct Harbour Hotel. A brief City
Tour and a welcome cocktail and dinner part at the Sofitel’s
Lava Dining before retiring for the night.
Mon. Nov 29: This morning, play the third oldest club in
New Zealand, the Titirangi Golf Club an Alister MacKenzie
jewel, set in beautiful bushland in the wester suburbs of
Auckland has hosted many major national professional and
amateur events and where the member’s refrain is they nev-
er get bored playing Titirangi. Suggest dinner is arranged at
the world famous Kermadec Fish Restaurant overlooking
the waterfront.
Tues. Nov 30: Travel to the Northland on a private coach
through beautiful farmland and coastal scenery to Paihia, in
the Bay of Islands. Stop at Whangarie Town Basin for
lunch at Reva’s Café. Take a break to visit the café harbor
art galleries, Clapham‘s famous Clock Museum or the Fish-
es Museum. Continue north and check-in the Paihia Beach
Resort and Spa. Relax by the pool, take a stroll around the
town or play a few extra evening holes at Waitangi. We
suggest dining at the hotel’s award winning restaurant.

Wed. Dec 1: A special overland trip through the historic town
of Kerikeri, often referred to as ‘The cradle of the nation be-
cause of its early interaction between Maori and European
Missionaries, to play Kauri Cliffs Golf Club, celebrated as
one of the top 100 golf courses in the world. Magnificent
views of the mighty Pacific Ocean on fifteen holes and a
championship challenge which will keep golfers entranced for
the duration of the round. Take relief form the journey with a
relaxing short ferry boat ride to the village of Russell a dinner
at the Gables and an evening walk along Front street before
sailing home
                                                                    Sat. Dec 4 Today golf at Wairakeri International Golf Club
                                                                    reputed to be New Zealand’s finest inland course with ma-
                                                                    jestic, forest scenery that provides a tranquil country envi-
                                                                    ronment to help you focus on your game. Later, in the day,
                                                                    board a luxury fishing boat for a private, twilight,
                                                                    cocktail and dinner cruise on Lake Taupo. Sail past Maori
                                                                    rock carvings and enjoy the thrill of reeling in Lake Taupo’s
                                                                    giant trout and taste them, just off the hook, barbequed to
                                                                    perfection by the chef on board. All that remains is to sit
                                                                    back and enjoy a fabulous sunset as you cruise home.

Thus. Dec 2: A day free of golf to enjoy the bay of Island,
shop unique Phaihia stores, especially the Cabbage Tree. En-
joy the Paihai Beach Resort spa or take a boardwalk to Haruru
Falls Maybe return to Russell, known in Maori as Korora-
reka, settled a thousand years ago by the Ngare Raumati iwi
(tribe). Legend has it that Kororareka is named after a broth
made from the little blue penguin which was given to a Maori
chief wounded in battle. He proclaimed "Ka reka te korora” -
how sweet is penguin, leading to the town's name. Blue pen-
guins still come ashore after dark onto the beach at Russell or
Kororareka to nest under the floorboards of waterfront build-
ings That evening a very special dinner experience at an excit-
ing Maori Cultural Night Show in the nearby local meeting          Sun. Dec 5: Golf at nearby Kinloch Golf Club, a Nicklaus

                                                                   Edinburgh and too many other great stars of the stage and
                                                                   screen to mention.
Fri. Dec 3: An early morning flight from Kerikeri Airport via
Auckland to Rotorua, to have a look at its bubbling mud, nat-
ural hot springs and shooting geysers, and a Kiwi if we are
lucky and lunch on route to Lake Taupo. Check-in Hilton Ho-
tel Taupo. Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest, freshwater
lake, renowned for its giant trout that attract fishermen from
all over the world. Minutes away the township of Taupo of-
fers many attractions and activities. Visit the raging torrents of
Huka Falls or the hot, bubbling mud in the Craters of the
Moon in Wairakeri National Park. After travel we suggest a
quiet lakeside dinner at the hotel’s famous Bistro del Lago
restaurant

Mon. Dec 6: Transfer to nearby Taupo Airport for a          Wed. Dec 8: This morning play New Zealand’s latest master-
