Course Development day

A big “Thank You” to everyone who supported
our Course Development Day in late August.
Despite all the Covid restrictions, including a
county lockdown the night before, the day was a
great success. I am delighted to say that over
€3,000 was raised. This money will go towards
upgrade works to the 11th tee box which we have
planned for this winter.

Congratulations to the 5 teams in the winning
enclosure and also to the two “skilful” golfers,
John Benton (12th) and Gerry Doyle (15th), who
recorded a Hole in One on the day.

Sanding of fairways
A special thank you to the Ladies section for
giving up the course on the 29th September to
allow for the sanding of fairways. Again, due to
Covid, this had to be arranged at short notice
and subject to availability of the contractor.
Almost 600 tons of sand was spread during ideal
weather conditions, essential work and an
investment for the future.

A further consideration is the change in our
