                                  FEBRUARY 2021
We hope that you will take a few minutes to read what has been happening in our ministry recently and be blessed. The
Perspectives section explains why the 2020’s will be the roaring twenties and what to do about it.

During December and January, we ministered in five churches:

 Home church, Golflands, Auckland – It was a joy to share with this friendly house church, pray for them, and enjoy
lunch together. Reminded us of how church may function if persecution or massive spiritual harvest came.
 Freedom Church, Waihi Beach– a sizeable and wonderfully alive church in this small coastal town. We also spent
time over lunch sharing with and praying for twelve of the key leaders.
 Church Unlimited, City Campus, Auckland City – people listened eagerly as Greta shared some insights on the
2020’s and I taught on “How to Cope When the World is Being Shaken.”
 Eastgate Christian Centre, Howick, Auckland – a large charismatic Baptist church being a shining light in East
Auckland. Virtually the entire church stood as we challenged them to commit to focused prayer for ten minutes
or more a day, asking for God’s kingdom to come to our families, city, nation, and nations.
 Church Unlimited, West Campus, Auckland – we taught on two foundational doctrines: “What You Will Look Like
in the Afterlife” (resurrection of the dead) and “What Happens When You Stand Before God” (judgment day).
These teachings reportedly encouraged many people and are available to watch here.

and most of all, being free from Covid lockdowns here in New Zealand, for which we are very thankful.

                                                PERSPECTIVES
By Greta Peters

Back in 2019 I felt the decade of the 2020s would be the Roaring Twenties. The devil has certainly been raging and roaring
louder than ever. Nations are raging and roaring like the roaring seas (see Isaiah 17:12). On the plus side, in these last few
years the Lord has been urging his Church to rise up and roar in prayer and worship. We’ve witnessed a substantial increase
in global prayer during 2020. As this roar increases further, the Lion of Judah will respond - he will roar over the nations.

When the Roaring Twenties phrase first came to mind, I felt that the 2020s would have commonalities with the original
Roaring Twenties, the 1920s. When I researched the history of original decade, four things stood out:
NEWS FROM DAVID AND GRETA FEBRUARY 2021
1. The Roaring Twenties was called the age of convergence. A quote states, “Many of the trends that converged to
make the 1920s distinct had been building for years, and in some cases, decades.” Prior to reading this, I had sensed
that there would be a convergence of many past prophetic words in the years ahead. Things are building up to a
climax, coming together in fulfilment as it was in the 1920’s. I believe the greatest and the most difficult days for
the Church lie ahead.

For example, although these are days of intensifying spiritual storms and warfare in the earth, this will also be the
era of the greatest move of the Spirit and harvest of salvation ever seen. The Lord’s intention is a fresh outpouring
of the Spirit for revival in his people and a great awakening in the nations.

2. The original Roaring Twenties was also called the age of wonders, referring to natural inventions. The 2020s will
again be a time of revolutionary discoveries, technologies & inventions, but will also be an age of supernatural
wonders , a time when signs, wonders and miracles will increasingly accompany those who believe in Jesus.

In these turbulent times Jesus intends us to ‘walk on water’ like Peter. Peter walked on wild, stormy waters with
strong winds and heavy waves. It will be like that for us too but Jesus says, “Don’t be afraid. Take courage. I am
here.” (Matt 14:27) Listen for his voice when he says, “Come!” and have faith. A verse for 2021 is Matthew 21:21:
“...if you have faith you can do things like this and much more... “

3. The 1920s was an age of extreme contradiction. The 2020s will also be a time of vast contrasts. Today evil is
called good and good evil. Sadly, lies being called truth and truth lies is becoming widespread in the media. The
Bible predicts, “You will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked.” (Malachi 3:18). In these
Isaiah 60 days there will be a growing contrast between the light of God’s glory on his people and widespread
darkness in the world.

4. The 1920s was also known as a time of culture wars. There was a great revolution in morals, aesthetics, and
everyday life. Today we see rising ideological conflicts on a global scale. In these roaring 2020’s, the key is to keep
our eyes on Jesus regardless. On New Year’s Day this year, I sensed him say: “Stand strong. Hold fast. Be resolute.”

Stand strong in faith. Resolve to keep fighting in prayer for God’s kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth.
Especially hold fast to hope. Hebrews 6:19 says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure(NIV)…
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor(NLT).”

In 2021, the anchor is a symbol for us. I’ve had a repeated picture of a huge anchor with a thick chain. An anchor
keeps a ship steady and in place so that it’s not tossed about nor carried away by storms. In this decade of the
roaring twenties, we will need to have both a strong anchor of hope and a strong chain of faith. In a worldwide
pandemic of fear, confusion, and hopelessness, Jesus alone is the answer. He calls us his church to BE a people of
faith, hope, and love to a distressed world.

Blessings,

David and Greta
