of the Missions Committee. The Vestry and Wardens would like to thank Jean

First Aid Training (Rob)
I am looking at the possibility of getting a first aid training organisation to
run a 4 hour course covering basic first aid. To understand the interest and
need for such a course, we plan to conduct a survey in the coming weeks
(either electronically or during the notices in the service).
Buildings and Grounds
Curtains - A more competitive offer was received from Russels, and a
contract will be signed shortly.
Roof replacement - Exterior work has been completed at St Tim’s and
Reinsulation and replacement of the ceiling above the toilet and meeting
room areas is about to begin. This work will be completed on Saturdays,
with the builder cleaning any works up before Sunday services.
Container - A container has been delivered, and installed next to the
garage for the Vicarage. The B&G Team is now preparing shelving for the
container to facilitate storage.
St James Updates
Christchurch Heritage Festival 2021 - This event is held on 9-25 October.
Traditionally St James has hosted an event as part of this festival,
however it was raised that St Tim’s may want to hold an event to explore
its heritage. Submissions to the council close on 11 June, making it
difficult to plan in such a short timeframe, however may be an
opportunity for next year. If such an event interests you, please get in
touch.
East Window Sunstrike - A sun-screen blind is being investigated to
prevent sun strike during certain seasons. A preferred
option has been identified, and final checks are being
made before going ahead.

Special Morning Tea
Sunday 20th June
The Staff and Wardens wish to
thank you all for the time you
spend volunteering in the Parish.
So we will be providing a special
morning tea at both churches.Youth - Bowling last week Neos Youth went bowling last week. It was a great time hanging out together. It was massively impressive, as the youth pastor, to see our youth looking out for and encouraging each other. Here are some of the pictures of the youth in action! This week we are back at St Tim’s and looking at ‘Repairing the four broken relationships’ between God, self, others and creation. Youth - Small groups Neos Youth are wanting to do discipleship groups. To do this well, we would love to be in a home. We are currently looking for two homes that can host either a guys or girls group. Groups vary in size between 4 - 6. We would like to use someone's lounge, and to have access to snacks and some hot drinks. This will be for three Thursdays in term 3 - tentatively August 12th, August 26th and September 16th. If you can serve in this way or provide snacks and drinks, please contact Nathan on one of the following: 0272742226 youth@burnside.org.nz Young Adults This week the Young Adults had a great time yarning and engaging in banter. We also went deeper into why we should read the Bible, explored John 1 and shared some deeper things. If you or someone you know wants to be part of a weekly young adults gathering, go to St Timothy's on a Wednesday night from 7pm. We'd love to see you there! Safety Training – Monday 28th June The Diocese has appointed a Safeguarding Officer, Cherie Dirkze, who will be leading some training at St Tim’s on Monday 28th June at 7pm. All leaders/ helpers, who are working in ministries with children & young people or vulnerable adults, are encouraged to attend.

One of the key practices of a follower of Jesus is the discipline of quiet and
stillness - an increasingly rare commodity in our modern life. A practice of quiet
and solitude helps us ease into rest and abiding in God; it helps us with prayer
and meditation. Even our study of the word of God (and the study of life, nature
and creation) is greatly aided by a posture of stillness.
