Note from Head of School / Nota de la Directora
de la Escuela
I know that all of us are concerned about the Coronavirus
(COVID-19) and I am enclosing this letter that was sent to all
Morris Jeff families earlier this week, outlining steps that the
school is taking towards prevention of contagious diseases,
including COVID-19, here at Morris Jeff.

Be assured that our school is following the protocol set by the Center for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), the New Orleans Health Department, the Louisiana Department of
Education, and NOLA Public Schools in our prevention plan and communication to families. If
we nd ourselves needing to move into a preparation phase (for potential school closure or
quarantine) we will follow the protocols established by these organizations.

Next week we will be meeting with the New Orleans Health Department to learn more about
COVID-19 and develop plans to respond to any potential cases. All attendees will be
provided with draft sample plans for responding to COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
Note from Head of School / Nota de la Directora de la Escuela
COVID-19 y otras enfermedades respiratorias.

In the meantime, please follow the CDC’s Handwashing guides and assist your children in
following these guidelines as well. Our campuses are stocked with soap, paper towels, hand
sanitizers, and anti-bacterial wipes for surfaces. Our custodial vendors have sent us a list of
expectations from their plans to ensure that both school sites are cleaned thoroughly every
day (including doorknobs, stair rails, and common areas of the school).

We remain diligent and prepared, while implementing all preventative measures available to
us at this time. Thank you for your continued support of our staff and our school.

of about 40 school staff members from all over our building who took time out of their
schedules to coach and guide students on their inquiries. Exhibition could not happen without

Lopez library misses your overdue books!
Please help your child to remember to return their library book(s) on time! If they aren't
nished by the due date, it can be renewed for longer. We encourage families to choose a
designated spot in the home to store the book(s) while they are checked out. This may be a
designated bookshelf or on a bedside table. Or, keeping library books in the child's backpack
when they are not in use could prevent items from getting lost. The library does not charge
for overdue books, only lost or damaged ones. Thank you for helping keep our library
