Brief history: The Stud was founded by Sir Edward Hulton in 1921 and acquired in
1925 by the Fairhaven family. During the second World War the Stud was leased to
the Aga Khan, who stood a number of stallions. Other stallions to stand at Barton
include NIGHT SHIFT (USA) and MOST WELCOME.
BARTON STUD welcomes seasonal and permanent boarders and is happy to
accommodate mares walking-in to stallions based in the Newmarket and Thetford
regions. The Stud also takes mares, foals and yearlings for sales preparation.
Directions: From Newmarket, take the A14 east to A143, go north on A143
towards Diss, over 3 roundabouts, up hill, take slip road on left, go 50 yards and stud
entrance is on the left.

Brief history of the Stud: Brook Stud was founded by Mr Archie Falcon in
1926. When he died in 1932, his widow leased the operation to Sir Richard
Garton. In 1934 Sir Alfred Butt purchased the Stud and, after his death, his
son, Sir Kenneth, owned and managed the stud.
The Stud has been in its present ownership since 2002.
Directions: Take the Ashley Road from Newmarket for approx. 3 miles,
prior to turning right into the village of Cheveley. Brook Stud can be found on
the left after Cheveley Parish Church.

Brief history of the Stud:
Cheveley Park Stud was bought by Mr and Mrs Thompson in 1975,
since which time it has undergone an extensive renovation programme
to bring it up to be one of the most modern and respected studs in
England. In 1986 Sandwich Stud was purchased as a private facility,
where most of the Thompson’s yearlings are accommodated and also
where the yearlings for public auction are prepared. In 1997, a further
expansion of the Stud took place with the purchase of Warren Hill and
Ashley Heath Studs, where horses such as PEBBLES, CARROLL HOUSE
and BISHOP OF CASHEL were bred and raised.
The total acreage of the Stud presently stands at
approximately 970 acres. (455 acres at Cheveley Park Stud, 215
acres at Sandwich Stud and 300 acres at Warren Hill & Ashley Heath

A Brief History: The Stud was originally built in 1888 by Sir John Blundell
