PREPARING FOR WHAT TO EXPECT?
ORIENTATION WEEK O’ Week consists of a combination of online and face to face orientation
(O’WEEK) and enrolment sessions this trimester, in an effort to cater to students
in Australia and abroad.
The Orientation session for Day 1 will be held ONLINE VIA ZOOM. MIT
will send an invitation for you to attend the Zoom Orientation Session,
to your personal email address. Therefore please access your email
regularly. You will also have access to the Zoom Invite via the Orientation
Moodle Shell. Moodle is an online MIT portal used for hosting classes
and presentations.
For onshore students, enrolments and document collection will take
place ON CAMPUS adhering to current social distancing rules. You will
be assigned a window of time for your appointment with the ‘Enrolment
Officers’ either on Day 2 or 3 depending on your course.
For offshore students, your course advice and enrolments will take place
online. The instructions will be sent to your personal email address.

ACTIVATING YOUR MITWELCOME
ACCOUNTSTO MIT SYDNEY
All students at MIT have access to the Academic Management System
(AMS) & Moodle (Learning Management System). These two platforms will
be used throughout your student life at MIT so it’s important to learn how to
use them properly when you start.
You will receive your username and password prior to orientation via email.
If you have not received your login details by Monday 12 July 2021, please
contact the IT Service Help Desk at: servicedesk@mit.edu.au with your
student number and/or name with 'Username and password' in the subject
line.
WHAT CAN AMS & MOODLE DO?
The AMS is your primary point of access to everything including Moodle.
You can use AMS and Moodle for the following:

RESOURCES
Once you have access, you can start setting up your MIT student email and explore
Moodle. After logging in to Moodle, you should be able to see the following page
under ‘My Courses‘ tab.
◊ ORIENTATION SHELL
The Orientation Shell is an invaluable resource for new students. Within this shell, you
will find video presentations from each department at MIT. Each video presentation
will explain what services each department provides and what you should know
about them. The Orientation Shell also has video presentations about the course
overview of your courses made by your Head of Schools and Course Coordinators.

PREPARING FOR DAY ONE
When you have finished watching all the video presentations on the Orientation
Shell, you will be ready to attend the live online orientation session. The live online
orientation session be held on Monday 2:00pm (AEST), 12th July 2021.
If you cannot access to the Zoom link on the Orientation Shell or cannot access
Moodle altogether, please contact your Student Administration and Experience
Officer immediately at studentservices@mit.edu.au and they will provide you the
Zoom link.

O’WEEK SCHEDULE DAY ONE SCHEDULE
The Orientation Session will be held on Monday 12th July 2021 at
2:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) ONLINE VIA ZOOM. It
is mandatory for all commencing students to attend this session.
You will need to join the orientation session via the “Join Orientation
Session” button on the Orientation Shell on Moodle. Alternatively, you
can contact your Student Administration and Experience Officers at
studentservices@mit.edu.au and they will send you the invite if you
can’t access your Moodle.
In this session you will be greeted by the Campus Director and
introduced to the MIT Community, its culture and values. You will
learn about what we have to offer as an institute and all the necessary
information that new students must know.
All students must attend this session online. You are not required to
come to campus on DAY 1.

O’WEEK DAYS 2-4 ONSHORE STUDENTS COURSE ENROLMENT
Days 2 and 3 of O’ Week are dedicated to enrolments and document collection which will take place ON
CAMPUS FOR ONSHORE STUDENTS. You will be required to come to campus to submit your documents
to the enrolments team and create your timetable.
Required Documents:
International Students Domestic Students
• Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) • Proof of Australian citizenship
• Passport and Visa/eVisa • (Original Passport or Citizenship Certificate or
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Birth Certificate)
