We have produced more assistance dogs than in any previous year, and partnered more people. We have broken down barriers for our clients. We have seen them walk tall accompanied by their stability dogs into their classrooms. And we have seen love blossom in the most unexpected of places. Dogs of the Disabled is the only charity of it’s kind in Ireland and we have been providing dogs to children and adults living with physical disabilities for over a decade. Over 80% of our clients are children, between the ages of 6 and 12 years, living with severe physical disabilities which effect their independence and social interaction. Our dogs are specially trained to assist a physically disabled person to carry out a range of practical tasks in order to achieve greater independence.
