Have you seen stage one of our Kindness Garden yet? It is part of the The Kindness
Rocks movement sweeping the nation. Would you like to contribute? This is a time to
reflect upon the hardships of farmers and every day Australians doing it tough during
this long dry season. If you know anyone who needs help, please let them know to
contact us on 4130 4630 or email: ggnc@bundaberg.qld.gov.au or they can simply
drop in for a chat at the Centre. We have extra rocks in reception for anyone who
wants to write a positive message on a rock for the garden or to share with others.
Hello, my name is Louise. I have worked as a Community Care/
Personal Care Worker for Bundaberg Council in the areas of
Gin Gin, Childers and Bundaberg for 2 years. I live in the Wallaville
area with my husband and young son and love the country
lifestyle. I enjoy my job immensely, because the smiles and
conversations with our clients are very rewarding and uplifting.

It is a wonderful initiative within the Region to help start a discussion and reduce the
stigma attached to mental illness and raises suicide awareness.
Christmas is around the corner again already! Each year the Gin Gin Neighbourhood
Centre works with the community to deliver Christmas hampers to those who need a
helping hand. We are accepting non perishable food & small gift donations until
13 December 2019. You will be able to nominate a family for a hamper from
mid-November by completing a form at the Gin Gin Service & Neighbourhood Centre.

I didn’t know what to do about my loved ones obsessive, compulsive drinking. I was
advised to try Al-Anon Family Groups. That was the best advice I have ever had. What I
learned was that I couldn’t fix him but I could do a lot to help myself and our children. The
people at the meeting were warm and welcoming and had all been in similar situations.
Nobody told me what to do. Today I have a very good life and all the stress, anxiety and
worry has gone and I can live my life with inner peace and serenity. Phone 1300 252 666
