                                       Friday 22nd January 2021

Please do not send your child to Nursery or school, if they
have any symptoms of Covid-19. Some examples of the

Google Classrooms from the pupils in Year 4.
Another great week of learning both in school and in the Google
Classroom. The class teachers have been really pleased with the
quality of the work submitted and of the range of subjects which
pupils are engaging with. It always brightens our days when we
receive photographs of completed remote learning activities.
This week, Mr Allen has been busy recording PE lessons which are
now available for all children in Years 1 to Year 6. Remember it is
important to keep active during lockdown too.
If you have any difficulties with internet access/technology or need
more data to enable your child to access Google Classroom, please
let us know and we will see what we can do to help, especially if your
child is entitled to Pupil Premium funding.

 Keeping in touch
There is a requirement that families maintain contact with school throughout the lockdown period.
Therefore, it is important that you support your child to access Google Classroom and that they respond to
registration and class teacher comments. If you have any queries/questions or worries, please don’t hesitate
to contact a member of staff via email or phone. We can provide printed work if you are unable to access
 online resources.

 Nursery
This week it has been lovely to welcome Nursery back and I know that they have very much enjoyed their
learning about Polar Regions; made even more special with the timely snowfall this week. Thank you Ms
Shenton and Mrs Farrell for making learning fun. Here are some of the great photographs from the online
gallery of the children who are thoroughly enjoying their learning outdoors.

 Healthy Snacks
The fruit scheme has been reinstated so now children no longer need to bring a snack for break time, instead
they will be provided with a piece of fruit at break time.

 Staffing News
Today, Mrs Robinson, one of our wonderful Teaching Assistants, commences her Maternity leave. Although
Mrs Robinson hasn’t been in school recently she has been busy supporting remote learning for the children
at home. We wish Mrs Robinson well for her new addition to the family and we hope she enjoys her
 Maternity leave.
Please do not send your child to Nursery or school, if they have any symptoms of Covid-19.
Self-isolation due to COVID
Please remember that if anyone in your family is showing any of the symptoms of COVID-19:-
         a persistent cough  a temperature  a loss of taste or smell
The whole family should isolate until a test has been taken and a negative result received. If there is a positive
result, then the whole family should isolate for 10 days from the date of the first symptoms or if there are
no symptoms from the date of the test. If your child is currently attending school, please do let us know if
anyone in your household tests positive, as your child will need to isolate.

School Attendance
Please continue to inform school if there is a change to your requirements and your
child will not be in school on certain days. This really helps to support us with our
planning and we appreciate advance notification when possible.

Testing and possible closure of bubbles
As part of the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and help to bring the
pandemic under control, staff will shortly be offered regular lateral flow testing, even though they are not
showing any symptoms. This means that members of staff test may test positive, as part of this programme
and we may have to close class bubbles with little notice. We will try to avoid this wherever possible, but
due to pressure on staffing this may be unavoidable.

National Lockdown
The lockdown means people cannot leave their homes except for specified and limited reasons,
including essential medical needs and food shopping, exercise and work for those who cannot do so from
home. The full guidance can be viewed here: Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support - GOV.UK
(www.gov.uk)

Free School Meals (FSM)
This week, you should have received your voucher codes under the FSM system which has been launched
again this week. If your situation at home has changed, and you feel you may be entitled to FSM, please
contact the school office who can carry out a check for you, if you provide them with some key details.
