Young Einstein’s
Congratulations to our Current Events teams who represented HVP at the Central/Western Challenge
Young Einstein’s Challenge. Our first two teams competed in the Year 5&6 section against about 20
teams.
Hauroko Hawks – scored top points on sport by playing their joker – how sharp!
Hauroko Hunters – demonstrated confidence and patience in collaborating answers to questions!

The Year 7&8 teams challenged 20 teams in their section.
Hauroko Hulks – used their biggest muscle, the brain to outsmart the other teams!
Hauroko Hornets – stayed close to their challengers, the sting came in handy at the end!

All teams worked together to answer questions in a variety of interesting categories incorporating all sub-
ject areas, current events, general knowledge and about NZ. We are proud of your achievements and
super stoked to have secured a win with Hauroko Hawks! What a huge accomplishment – WOW to Lily
Erskine, Kate Mercep, Charlie Templeton and Summer Templeton!

Cross Country
Today 5 of our stellar long-distance runners competed in the gruelling Southland Cross Country. Super
proud of the achievements of these students in Year 5 – Lily Erskine, Year 6 – Lucas Templeton, Year 7 –
Harrison Erskine & Year 8 – Jendi Minty and Felix Fowle.
