Dear Parents and Whanau,
LRS Triathlon.
Thank you to everyone for making this event a success.
The children have enjoyed practising for the past few

Pumpkin soup making day will be held on Thursday 15th April at the Clubrooms from 9am.
Please bring a chopping board and knife. Morning tea provided. Pumpkin pulp will also be given
to families to make into pies, to bring along on Sunday 18th.
(Recipe will be provided).
Missing School Polo Shirt
Recently a LRS polo shirt has gone missing at swimming it is named Gina Birch. Please can
parents check for this, it will be a small size.
Emotional Coaching using Zones of Regulation Workshop for Parents
Parents and whanau are invited to attend a workshop explaining the Zones of Regulation
facilitated by Mana Ake on Wednesday March 17, 2021 at 3:30pm in Room 10 at Akaroa Area
School.

The Zone of Regulation is a curriculum design to foster self regulation and emotional control for
children. Teachers have participated in a training session and are now using these tools and
strategies with students to help individuals recognise their feelings and emotions in the classroom.
To learn more about this programme and to support your child and the learning happening at
school, we look forward to seeing you at this workshop.
Banks Peninsula Netball
Team trial day is this Sunday at Akaroa Sports Complex (behind The Grand). Year 5/6 starts at
9.30am and year 7-13 10.30am start. If you are interested in playing netball for Banks Peninsula,
please come along. Late registrations can be taken on the day. Information will come out soon

REMINDERS
• Children to please bring a named drink bottle to school each day.
• Please remember to name your child’s clothing – there is a lot of lost property building up.
• Please do not park across the gateways of school, school house or Playcentre’s entrance way.
• Please close the school gates. We’ve had recent trouble with dog poo in our grounds.
